Kym Marsh has become embroiled in a Twitter feud following an incident at a Morrisons supermarket which involved her parents.
The ex-Coronation Street actress, 44, took to social media to slam the supermarket after her mum who she identified as vulnerable was eating in the Stockton Heath branch supermarket when an employee touched her food with his bare hands.
Kym’s mum Pauline, said that while eating at the cafe, a member of staff picked up food that had fallen off her plate before serving it to her and her husband.
She tweeted: “Went to Morrisons cafe yesterday at Stockton Heath for some lunch,
“As we’ve done many times, ordered scampi and chips when the young lad brought it to me some of the food fell off the plate onto the tray,
“He picked it up and put it back into my plate with his bare hands.”
Pauline went on to say that the store offered no apology after the incident adding: “Think some staff need more training in hygiene.”

Shortly after seeing her mums tweet, Kym waded in quoting the post to her 773,300 followers adding: “@Morrisons is this acceptable then?”
After one Twitter follower urged Kym to “chill out” she replied that her parents are in the “vulnerable” category.
One follower later said that Kym’s tweet could lead to the employee getting sacked, to which she hit out: “Listen, mate, we are in the middle of a pandemic.

“Everyone is trying to get on with life as safely and easily as possible.”
She added: “No matter who it is, someone handling your food like that at any time, but especially now, is unacceptable!”
The news follows the announcement that Kym is to go against ITV’s Lorraine with Gethin Jones as the pair from a new BBC breakfast show.
Her new programme has been commissioned for 40 episodes but there are hopes it will be extended into 2021 should it be successful.
She told The Mirror: “I’ve always enjoyed morning TV, it’s a great way to start the day.
“I love nothing more than a good catch up, although this will be on a slightly different scale, more of a daily conversation with our viewers.”
Daily Star Online has approached Morrisons for comment.
