Netflix hit true crime series Unsolved Mysteries is back for another season.
The series explores six new perplexing cases, one of which generates a lot of discussion over the identify of a deceased victim, and what actually happened to her.
Episode two, titled A Death in Oslo, explores the case of the mysterious death of a woman in a hotel room in Oslo, Norway in 1995.
The woman, who was found with a bullet wound to the head, checked in under the fake name of Jennifer Fairgate.
Her death was ruled a suicide by police at the time, because she had been found with a pistol in her hand, and the door to her room was locked from the inside.
But there were several things about the case which suggested she had been murdered.

There was the lack of gunshot residue, the lack of any identifying documents in her room, and the fact that the window was open.
So what happened to the woman known as Jennifer Fairgate? Investigators have several strong theories.
Journalist Lars Christian Wenger speculates she might have been a drug smuggler, a high-class prostitute, an intelligence agent or even an assassin.

The Plaza hotel often held peacekeeping negotiations between foreign powers.
Jennifer Fairgate, which she misspelt “Fergate” on two occasions, being a secret agent is one of the strongest theories.
That would explain why she gave a fake identify and address when checking in, and didn’t have any identification in the room.
Ola Kaldager, a group leader of Norway’s intelligence service, is sure it was a “well carried out intelligence operation”.
In the docuseries, he added: “What actually happened there is very hard to say, but I have a feeling that she was executed.”
He pointed out that the registration number on the gun was professionally removed, and that the fact that her clothing tags were removed was common for agents in the field.
Kaldager added: “If she was an intelligence agent and she was killed in that way, both sides would be very quiet”.

Another theory was that she was a high-end escort, or involved in the drugs trade, which is why she ended up being killed.
Investigators wanted to know why she had a gun, and so many bullets in her briefcase, and these could be possible explanations.
