Bev Callard wants a facelift due to fearing she's ‘unemployable without one’

Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard is set to go under the knife.

The British acting legend says she plans to splash out on a facelift amid fears her career will suffer if she doesn’t.

Beverly, 64, is played landlady Liz McDonald turing her time on the ITV cobbles, says she feels pressure to look younger than her years due to a ‘sexist industry’.

Speaking candidly, she said: “I am going to do it, yes.

“It’s difficult because our industry is so sexist and ageist, still.

“How many films do you see where the husband is 50 and the wife is 30? It happens all the time.

“The wives are usually stick insects, they are gorgeous, their faces don’t move.

“I’m just going to join that because I’m scared of not getting work.”

Despite reaching the conclusion she wants the op done, Bev is still concerned about the procedure.

She added to The Sun: “I am absolutely terrified, I’m such a coward about things like that, but I’ll be asleep so I won’t know what’s happening.

“He’s going to do my lower face and my neck.

“So when you see me, you will think I’ve just been at a hundred miles an hour.”

Tragically, despite her successful career in front of the camera, Beverley went on to explain how she ‘hates mirrors’ and seeing herself.

She says that for a decade and a half she has opted not to watch anything she has starred in due to not liking at photos of herself.

Bev won the heart of the nation last winter when she took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The actress joined the likes of Vernon Kay and Jordan North in the haunted Welsh castle for the Ant and Dec hosted series, the first one not be filmed in Australia.

Corrie airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
