Holly Willoughby is TV’s golden girl, but her marriage is a sparkling showbiz story in its own right.
The lovable presenter has been hosting ITV’s daytime chat show This Morning for years alongside her co-star and ‘television hubby’ Phillip Schofield.
However, away from the television screen, Holly has enjoyed a beautiful 14-year marriage to her real husband, Daniel Baldwin.
The pair first met when Holly began presenting Ministry of Mayhem on CITV in 2004, as it turns out Dan was a producer on the children’s’ television show.
Holly got her first big break in television when she bagged the presenting job alongside Stephen Mulhern – but it also meant she would meet her future hubby Daniel after working on the show with him.
It turns out she didn’t fancy Dan at first though, and she wasn’t even sure she was going to like him at all.
She once told her Celebrity Juice co-star Keith Lemon: “I walked into the studio and Dan was there who was our new producer, and I thought ‘Oh my god, I’m going to hate this guy!'”.
Keith Lemon said: “So you didn’t fancy him straight away?”
Holly replied: “No, not at all. And he’d come from MTV and he was very ‘cool for school’, and I was sort of in this studio doing like weird pirouettes and being stupid.
“He sort of looked at me like I was just like this sort of wally.”
Producer Dan has also worked as an executive producer on Celebrity Juice, which Holly has appeared on a number of times.
Dan even co-founded his own independent media company, called Hungry Bear, in 2014.
Three years after they met, Holly and Dan tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at St Michael’s Church in 2007.
After getting wed at the alter, they went on to dance the night away with their guests at a star-studded reception which took place Amberley Castle.
The 900-year-old castle, which is on the South Downs in West Sussex, held a special place in the hearts of Holly and Daniel.
That’s because the couple used to visit the castle to celebrate on special occasions.
Holly was a stunning bride as she wore a gorgeous white gown with a sweetheart neckline, which was created by one of her friends.
However, she came to regret wearing high heels for the event as she ended up damaging the dress.
She said: “I wanted the massive dress and the towering heels.
“But I regretted it and I ended up walking around barefoot for the whole day. It was fun, but the hem of my dress is ruined now.”
However, Holly still managed to sport the damaged dress when she turned up to the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May 2018.
Holly and Daniel now live in Barnes, London, and they share their three young children, including their sons Chester and Harry, and their daughter Belle.
Although proud mum Holly tends to keep her children out of the public eye, she occasionally shares a sweet snap of her little ones to give her fans a glimpse of her family life.
Happy couple Holly and Daniel have been going strong as a married couple for 14 years, and Holly’s revealed some of her secrets to a successful marriage.
Speaking to Phillip Schofield on This Morning, she said: “We’re very honest with each other, we listen to each other.
“I love him and he loves me. We respect each other and we probably drive each other round the twist.
“But we give each other space for that as well.”
It appears that Holly also has some rather saucy secrets to keeping her marriage strong, because she revealed she likes to wear heels in the bedroom with her husband Dan.
She told Now magazine: “I love wearing new shoes during sex – and not just because it’s kinky.
“I’m not a foot fetishist or anything, I have found the best way to break in new shoes is to wear them during sex.
“It’s become a sort of rule whenever I get a new pair of shoes. I always wear them in the bedroom – during the sex act – before I take them outside.
“Every girl loves a new pair of six-inch heels and I’m no different.”
During the same chat in 2009, Holly confessed that she liked to play “saucy games” with Dan.
Although she kept coy on what games she plays with Dan, she said: “I do enjoy saucy games with my hubby.”
Holly admitted that marriage doesn’t come without its difficulties, and that “tiredness” can be a strain on your relationship with a partner.
She told The Sun’s Fabulous: “Marriage is something we have to work at.
“You’re an idiot if you think you just get married and then you tick along happily ever after for the rest of your life.”
She added: “At the same time it shouldn’t be too difficult, but I do believe tiredness has a lot to answer for.”
