Craig Revel Horwood 'confirmed' for Strictly Come Dancing return after Motsi Mabuse exit

Craig Revel Horwood is set to return to the Strictly Come Dancing judging line-up this weekend after missing last week’s show due to testing positive for Covid-19.

The popular judge was missed by fans last week after some felt Cynthia Erivo “overrated” some contestants despite her popularity with viewers.

This weekend’s show will see both Craig and Cynthia return to the judging panel after Motsi Mabuse was ruled out of appearing because of exposure to a close contact of someone who had tested positive for Covid-19.

Speaking to The Mirror a source said: “Craig will be returning on Saturday night after coming out of quarantine on Wednesday.

“While he enjoyed having the time to redecorate his home, he can’t wait to be back on the judging panel after missing the show for the first time in 17 years.

“It was interesting for him to watch it as a viewer but his opinions on what some of the judges had to say last weekend definitely differed somewhat!”

A spokesperson confirmed earlier today that Cynthia will be filling in for Motsi as she is forced to isolate due to the exposure.

They said: “Cynthia Erivo will be joining us as a guest judge again, joining Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and head judge Shirley Ballas on the judging panel.”

Last week McFly frontman Tom Fletcher and his dance partner Amy Dowden became the latest couple to leave the competition after their performance to On My Own from Les Misérables failed to resonate with viewers of the dance competition.

Tom later admitted feeling “gutted” that his time was up but he confirmed feeling “proud” of everything he had achieved during his time on the show.

Viewers will now see bookies favourite Rose Ayling-Ellis and her partner Giovanni Pernice compete for a place in the final with fellow contestants Dan Walker, AJ Odudu, John Whaite, Dan Walker, Rhys Stephenson, and Tilly Ramsay.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday, November 27 at 6.55 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
