Emmerdale flooded with Ofcom complaints as grisly Meena murder plot sickens viewers

Emmerdale has been struck with a slew of complaints over serial killer Meena Jutla as she appeared to bury her sister Manpreet Sharma in the woods with fans fearing her reign of terror may never end .

TV watchdog Ofcom – which handles complaints about radio and TV shows in Britain – received more than 150 complaints in relation to the ITV soap.

The episode in question saw killer nurse Meena go to extreme lengths to keep her sister Manpreet silent after she discovered she was responsible for the multiple deaths in the village.

After keeping her locked up in her room for more than two weeks, Meena decided it was time to kill off her loving sister as suspicions about her whereabouts started to swirl across the Dales.

Previously, the medical practitioner had been slowly drugging her sister with Diazepam which is a strong sleeping drug that can be deadly if too many are taken at once.

But it was her ex-husband Rishi who signed her death sentence after he got the police involved to get to the bottom of her sudden disappearance failing to fall for Meena’s lies that the raven-haired beauty had taken a trip to Ibiza.

And it’s fair to say viewers were shocked to see things take a turn for the worse when they watched Meena drug her sister with the strong sedative before she dragged Manpreet out of the house and into her car boot wrapped up in a body bag.

In the middle of the night, Meena was seen digging a hole out in the woods where she pulled the suspected body into the shallow grave.

As she hunched over the black zip-up bag, she whispered: “I’m sorry sis, I never wanted it to end like this.”

It was at this point that the ITV soap ended the nail-biting episode leaving fans questioning whether her sister was really alive or dead.
