A Place In The Sun's Laura Hamilton deletes pics of husband for 'safety' after split

Laura Hamliton has deleted pictures of her husband Alex Goward from social media, with a friend claiming it was for “security and safety” reasons after their split.

The A Place In The Sun star, 39, announced her split from her partner of 13 years Alex in a statement last weekend.

Fans soon noticed that Laura had removed pictures of Alex from her Instagram and Facebook pages, with many wondering if that could mean the break-up was not amicable.

But a friend of the television host has now claimed that Laura was advised to delete the images for “security and safety” reasons, insisting their was no third party involved.

The source told MailOnline: “Laura and Alex will continue to co-parent their two children and go on family holidays.

“The split was amicable and nobody else was involved.

“It’s true she’s deleted pictures of Alex but it was due to security and safety concerns, and this process started before they announced their split.”

It’s not clear what security and safety concerns there were.

Laura announced that her relationship with Alex was over at the weekend in a poignant Instagram post.

She shared an image of a Dr Seuss quote which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

In the caption, Laura wrote: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.

“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time. Laura.”

The shock announcement came just weeks after the family – including eight-year-old son Rocco and six-year-old daughter Tahlia – enjoyed a trip to Lapland.

Laura will be leaving the family home after the split, which they have shared for nine years.

She said: “It was a home where we created some incredible memories that we will cherish forever…

“Change can be scary but you know what is scarier? Allowing fear to stop you from growing, evolving and progressing.

“When it feels scary to jump that’s exactly when you jump, otherwise you just end up staying in the same place your whole life, and that I can’t do.”

Laura and Alex tied the knot in a romantic Surrey wedding, and they also own a cafe in Surrey together.
