Vanessa Feltz on the brink of tears as she and Piers Morgan announce Queen's death

Vanessa Feltz appeared on the brink of tears at talkTV as she announced the death of The Queen.

The station was in the middle of airing a news bulletin presented by Emily Rose Adams when the news broke of the death of Her Majesty, The Queen.

The monarch passed away peacefully at Balmoral aged 96-years-old surrounded by her family as confirmed by Buckingham Palace.

After the news bulletin ended, the station quickly cut back to the talkRADIO studio in London Bridge where a visibly emotional Vanessa appeared on screen ready to read a pre-prepared speech.

Vanessa, appeared to be on the brink of tears announced: “It’s 6:32. Today is the eighth of September 2022. And I’m extremely sorry to have to bring you the exceptionally sad news that Her Majesty the Queen has died.”

The former BBC broadcaster continued: “The news has been confirmed by Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty was 96 years old and had rained for 70 years.”

She added: “News of her passing is reaching the rest of the world and she was Monarch of more than 100 million people.”

She finished off her emotional speech by saying: “Her reign began on the sixth of February 1952 when she was just 25.”

The screen was then quickly cut to a special purple edition of the talkTV logo before Piers Morgan appeared from a subdued Ealing Studio.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter then went on to read the official statement released by the palace: “Buckingham Palace have released a statement and it reads as follows.”

He continued: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

The screen then faded into a rousing tribute of Her Majesty, The Queen whilst the national anthem played in the background.

Her Majesty, The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral at the age of 96 on 8th September.

Buckingham Palace officially announced: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

On Thursday lunchtime (September 8), Buckingham Palace confirmed royal doctors were “concerned” about the monarch’s health and had placed her “under medical supervision”.

Immediate members of the Royal Family including Prince William, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and The Duchess of Cornwall rushed to the Scottish Estate to be by Her Majesty’s side.

Prince Charles was already at Balmoral as he became king, with his youngest son Prince Harry made his way to Balmoral without his wife, Meghan Markle, The Duchess Of Sussex.
