This Morning's Holly and Phil shut down Prince Harry reconciliation hopes amid 'issues'

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield appeared to shut down hopes of a reconciliation between Prince Harry and Prince William on This Morning.

Following its cancellation on Friday, the ITV programme returned to screens on Monday with a special episode to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a discussion with Vanessa Feltz, the presenters discussed whether their grandmother’s passing would encourage Harry and William to make amends.

While Vanessa was “hopeful” the Royal period of mourning would result in the brothers reconciling, Holly and Phil were left unconvinced.

Vanessa said: “I’m so hopeful this will be [it].

“I really am and I’m not just saying this because I believe in happy ever after.

“I’m so hopeful this will be the beginning of a great reunion because only these two brothers will understand how they feel and understand how much they’re remembering their loss of their mother at this point.”

Following Vanessa’s comments, Phil shared his view that the Royal state of mourning was not an appropriate time for them to work through their “issues”.

Phil added: “Maybe this isn’t the week for it and what we can do now is to look forward with some sort of hopefulness.

“We know there are definitely issues between brothers. It’s not that easy. Reconciliations are difficult.”

Holly seemed to be of a similar opinion to her co-host Phil.

The presenter, 41, concluded: “It’s not what’s important right now.”

William and Harry put on a united front while greeting mourners in London over the weekend

In spite of their rumoured feud, Prince Harry and Prince William were pictured together alongside their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle as they met mourners in London over the weekend.

The brothers are believed to not be on speaking terms following Harry’s move to America and he and Meghan’s Oprah Winfrey interview.

It has also been alleged Prince William will not make amends with Harry until reading the contents of his forthcoming bombshell memoir – which could be released as early as November.
