EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt’s kids were bullied at school because of his role as Ian Beale.
Having played the part for 36 years and worked on plenty of hard-hitting storylines, he is one of the most recognisable soap stars in the UK.
Speaking about Jessie and Sam, Adam said: “You would have to ask them how going through school with Ian Beale as their father was. It can’t have been easy for them.

“I did actually apologise for them once when I picked up an award. They must have gotten some stick at school.”
Adam was last seen in Albert Square in January 2021 but has kept busy with various projects.
He confesses he hasn’t kept up to date with the storylines but really enjoyed a recent flashback episode.
Adam said: “I thought it was very clever. Hats off to the team.”
He is now on the road living in a motorhome and starring in the musical My Fair Lady.
Meanwhile, fans are desperate for Adam to return to EastEnders full-time again, with many sharing their thoughts on Digital Spy.
One person typed: “It would be good for him to come back as he’s a big character. The problem is they really ruined him and Sharon with their silly relationship. It is appalling that they ruined that friendship!!!!”
A second user commented: “I haven’t really missed him, mainly because the character was so badly damaged in his last few years, but he deserves much better than his last appearance being scrabbling round the floor of the Vic eating poisoned pasta.”
A third similarly said: “Yes but only if they manage to repair some of the awful damage they did to his character. I hate how they ruined his and Sharon’s friendship.”
