Rylan Clark lands first acting role in popular soap 11 years after X Factor fame

Rylan Clark has landed his first acting role, 11 years after he rose to fame. .

He initially became a firm fixture in UK households whilst competing in the ninth instalment of The X Factor back in 2012, finishing in fifth place whilst he was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger.

But it seems the former reality star turned professional presenter is also turning his attentions towards acting as he has landed a role in the longest running radio drama of all time.

Rylan, 34, is set to take to the airwaves as one of the main presenters in the UK during the Eurovision Song Contest when it comes to Liverpool in the early summer.

But before then, the popular TV personality is due to star on BBC Radio 4’s The Archers in a Eurovision special of the long-running radio series.

The episode is due to air on Friday 12 May, the day before the live final, where the village of Ambridge will host the commentator as he makes his way to Liverpool for the global talent contest.

However chaos follows as he gets lost along the way up to the host city and he’s invited to judge the village’s Eurovision Variety Show as a diversion.

The star is excited to be playing himself as he told The Sun : “I’m looking forward to getting my wellies on and checking out what Eurovision excitement Ambridge’s residents have to offer as I pop into the iconic Archers.

“I’ve seen some drama throughout my time but nothing compares to what’s about to unfold in Ambridge.”

This comes after fans lavished praise on the former Celebrity Big Brother personality as he embraced a more natural look.

The TV legend who is best known for his appearances on the likes of The X Factor and Celebrity Gogglebox, has chosen to ditch his usual dark beard dye and try growing out his natural colour.

Rylan previously shared images with his fans as he revealed his natural beard is red as is his normal hair colour.

However the TV presenter usually dyes it jet black for a glossy groomed look.

Sharing his natural style, the star told his Twitter followers: “I MIGHT try natural for a bit.”
