The Love Island villa for the next series has undergone a major green update, with solar panels being installed to lower the villa’s carbon footprint.
The work at the villa in Palma Majorca is being carried out ahead of a new series this summer, although an official start date has not been confirmed by ITV.
The series, which will feature sexy singletons looking for love, will take place at the huge luxury villa which boasts a pool, outside gym, sun soaked terrace and a hideaway.

The villa’s new addition of huge solar panels are delicately shaded from view by nearby foliage, and are thought to be able to lower the production team’s impact on the environment too.
The villa is expected to house sexy singletons ahead of an eight-week series, with sources saying it will begin in June but ITV haven’t yet confirmed an official start date.
The Palma home has only hosted the summer series for one season, with the luxury villa being picked by show bosses last year.
Executive Producer Mike Spencer told The Mirror: “They looked at quite a few villas and this was by far the best.
“The view is beautiful, we want people to tune in and say this is Love Island but it’s had a glow up.
“It’s slightly bigger, it’s a similar pool size but the space around it is bigger.”
ITV2’s winter edition of Love Island finished last month, with filming taking place in South Africa and loved up couple Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan taking home the crown.
The summer edition will take place in Palma Majorca, and inside sources say ITV have already cast their islanders ahead of the new series and are set to begin filming imminently.
According to the Sun, the source said: “[They] will fly out late next month ready for the show to begin in just eight weeks.
“It is hugely exciting and those working on the show cannot wait to get started.”
Also up in the air is whether host Maya Jama, who was a huge hit with viewers for the winter series, will return to present the summer show.
The presenter has confirmed she would be keen to host the series when she shared a behind the scenes snap on her Instagram.
Maya wrote: “[I had the] best time ever [and I] can’t wait to do it all over in the summer.”
