This means no inquest will be held into Paul’s tragic death.
His sad passing came just a few weeks after the band announced their plans for a reunion tour in celebration of their 25th anniversary.
While Dorset Police, who found Paul’s body, revealed their enquiries are still “ongoing”.
The confirmation of Paul’s cause of death comes shortly after original S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt announced she would not be joining her band members for the upcoming tour.
The 42-year-old was scheduled to join Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara and Bradley McIntosh for The Good Times Tour but has decided to step down.
Taking to their official Instagram page, the group broke the news while paying tribute to their late friend.
Kicking off the conversation was Jon who apologised for not speaking out sooner, before admitting Paul’s death had been a “shock” for them all.
While Rachel, 45, mentioned that they’ve been spending time supporting each other, Tina, 46, added: “It’s just really sad and really hard to process it right now.”
“We’re all still in so much disbelief and Paul was a big brother to us and you guys out there,” Bradley, 41, told their 70,000 folllowers.
“He truly was a unique specimen of a human being. No one can ever replace our Paul but he lives on inside each and every one of us.”
Holding back tears, Jo, 44, said: “When he walked into a room, you’d definitely know that he was there because he’d light it up with humour and love and [he was] just a really special person.”
The group then announced that Hannah would not be joining them in tour, as Jon went on to say: “You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today.
“Hannah will always be a part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour but we wish her all the best for the future.”
Rachel added: “He’s always going to be with us. He’s such a huge part of this tour and so involved in everything we are planning. We’re just going to keep his memory alive and share it with all of you.”
