Love Island contestants are getting a daily reminder to check their breasts this year thanks to ITV’s collaboration with CoppaFeel.
The collaboration sparked in a bid to get both men and women to check around their breast tissue to ensure they haven’t got any lumps.

In the classic Love Island font, the words check our chest is written across the mirror in the bathroom with both a pair of boobs and some pecks underneath to encourage both men and women to look.
Executive Producer Mike Spencer told Daily Star and other press: “CoppaFeel’s marketing executive emailed me and said, ‘would you ever consider this?’ and obviously! It really stood out to me.

“I didn’t realise the stats around 16-30 year old men and women. Around 600 men last year aged 16-30 died because of breast cancer. If you see that and then check your chest and go to the doctors, that’s huge.
“Obviously we’re trying to pop that into the show, but also raise awareness for the charity you know, anything we can do.”
Mike also spoke on the occasions where Love Island viewers have been able to spot concerns for the islanders with Molly-Mae Hague, Demi Jones and Samie Elishi all getting tests done after the villa.

He said it’s “mad” and “amazing” that fans were able to see things that the girls themselves weren’t aware of and encourage them to get checked over by a doctor.
Mike explained that he thinks having the CoppaFeel sign on the mirror will encourage people to have the conversation with others within the villa and be more aware of anything that may be wrong.
Love Island’s Demi Jones discovered her cancer after going on the ITV2 show after finding a lump in her neck which has since been removed, but fellow islanders were helped from the show.

Samie, who only appeared on Love Island this year, was hit with messages from fans about a lump on her throat which encouraged her to get it checked out.
She explained the doctors discovered a 5cm lump on her thyroid which was graded a “grade 3”.
Although Samie explained the doctors didn’t know at the time if it was cancerous or not, she said she was undergoing surgery but added: “I’m so grateful to the people that messaged and I’ve caught it now. So grateful.”

Molly-Mae Hague, who also went on the show, was encouraged to go to the doctors by Love Island fans after they saw her mole while she was on the show in 2019.
In 2020 she shared a video on her Youtube that after getting a third opinion on her mole, she discovered it was cancerous after having it removed.
