The former soap star, who became famous for playing the role of Andy Sugden in Emmerdale and winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, took to Instagram to share the joyous news.
Sharing a picture with his family, he told his followers: “A brand new ITV1 series this Autumn bringing you inside our lives as we celebrate and explore this wonderful farming life!
“With more animals, more laughs, more mistakes and even more children! This adventure really has only just begun. We can’t wait to share it with you! Let the fun begin!”
Following Kelvin’s announcement, delighted fans quickly headed to the comment section to share their thoughts.
One follower wrote: “Whoo hoo love watching you all..fabulous you will be back..”
Another chimed: “I’ve been waiting so long for this. Can’t wait.”
A third penned: “Ah thats great news i have been wonderering when you would be doing some more series.”
While a fourth added: “Can’t wait to see you back and how the farm is doing. Great news.”
The eight-part series will be set at Kelvin’s 120-acre farm in the Peak District, which he moved into in 2021. Before this, the family lived in Manchester.
The documentary-style show is made by Leeds-based Daisybeck Studios and has been commissioned for weekday daytime for ITV and ITVBe in the first co-commission between the two channels.
Viewers previously got a glimpse into Kelvin’s farm life when he starred in a six-part series on the BBC last year.
The popular programme which was called Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, followed the actor as he learned how to run a farm, similar to his Emmerdale character Andy.
But although the show was popular, some viewers thought it was to much like Jeremey Clarkson’s programme, Clarkson’s farm.
Taking to Twitter at the time, one viewer said: “How much does Kelvin Fletcher want to copy Jeremy Clarkson with his new farm.” While another wrote: “Clarkson’s Farm it ain’t.”
