Corrie’s Mason actor forced to address uproar over eyelashes as fans left distracted

Coronation Street star Luca Toolan has spoken out as fans have been left seriously distracted over his eyelashes.

The talented actor plays Mason Radcliffe on the ITV soap. Since rocking up the cobbles, bully Mason has caused plenty of drama, terrorising Maria Connor’s young son, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall).

After months of bullying his fellow students, Mason has built quite a reputation for himself both inside and outside of the school grounds. However, things got so bad for Liam that he thought about taking his own life.

But during Luca’s stint on the show as Mason, fans have been left rather distracted over his long eyelashes. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “This new bloke has the best eyelashes in the world. I’m so jealous.”

Someone else added: “I can’t take this bully seriously in #corrie when he has such lovely long eyelashes.” While a third chimed in and quipped: “What mascara does Mason use.”

But now, Luca has spoken out about his eyelashes. Taking to his TikTok page, the actor shared a “day in the life” video of him hard at work on the soap.

The start of his day saw him wake up and head to the ITV studios in Manchester. He then got changed in his dressing room – which he shares with Jack Carroll who plays Bobby Crawford.

Up next was hair and make-up time for the soap newcomer. And in the voiceover on the clip, Luca addressed the uproar his facial feature has caused.

He said: “Let me go down to hair and make-up where we’re not applying any mascara to my eyelashes.” Luca then quipped: “Thank you!” before laughing.

It comes after Luca revealed one mortifying moment where he was recognised by a fan completely naked. In an interview with Daily Star and other press, the up-and-coming star revealed one awkward moment he was approached by a fan at the gym.

When asked if he has ever been recognised in the street as his onscreen character, he told us: “Oh yeah, all the time! I was in the gym and, I don’t know if this is TMI but, obviously I’m getting changed to go in the sauna and you have to take your pants off.
