Four In A Bed viewers could barely believe their eyes as one pair were so unimpressed with their lodgings that they slept in their car.
The Channel 4 series sees B&B owners taking turns to stay with each other, later dishing out feedback before an overall winner is crowned. In a recent instalment, contestants Mat and Helen were staying in a yurt owned by sisters Lesley and Sarah.
Unluckily, the siblings weren’t well and were apparently unable to look after their guests, and they left it to one of the husbands to sort their stay at the glamping site.

However, Mat and Helen weren’t happy with the cleanliness of the property, claiming it was “dirty” and “damp”. So they decided to kip in their Range Rover instead.
“The sleep was pretty poor, wasn’t it?” Mat said, as they climbed out of their car in the morning. “We slept in the car,” Helen confirmed. “I think I got about 45 minutes all in all sleep-wise.”
The pair said they’d had a look around the accommodation before making the decision to decamp for the night. “We thought it was just easier to come and sit in the car,” Mat said.
Sisters Sarah and Lesley were upset by the feedback, suggesting glamping wasn’t for everyone. And some viewers thought Helen and Mat had been a tad too critical.
One viewer said on X that it was “unfair”, posting: “Really harsh scoring.” “Wow these people are SO awfully critical,” said another. Others couldn’t get over the fact that Helen and Matt bedded down in the car. “They slept in the car…!” one posted, along with a laughing emoji.
“Don’t think I’ve ever seen it where someone has slept in their car,” said someone else. Another baffled viewer asked: “Why sleep in the car? Why not drive to a local pub? Booking.com would’ve sorted them out.”
