  • Artem Chigvintsev to Dedicate Season 29 of 'Dancing with the Stars' to Baby Boy

The professional dancer, who was dropped from the show’s lineup on the previous season, welcomed his first child with former wrestling star Nikki Bella in July.
    Aug 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Artem Chigvintsev is returning to America’s “Dancing with the Stars” after he was dropped from the professional dancer lineup last season.
The 38-year-old, who welcomed his first child with former wrestling star Nikki Bella in July, announced his return for season 29 of the dancing competition on Monday’s (August 24) episode of “Good Morning America”.
“I just can’t wait to get back,” he gushed. “And I want to dedicate this season to my little boy.”

Artem’s comeback was hinted at on the morning show last week.
“He just had a baby with the love of his life, and she knows how to kick some ass,” the show teased.
The Russian native was unhappy after he was left out of the team of professionals last year (19), explaining that it came as a “massive shock,” and he only found out five days before the announcement was made.
“Obviously, it was a massive shock,” Chigvintsev said on “The Bellas Podcast” last August. “It’s not even a job, it’s a lifestyle if you’ve been doing it for a very long time. There was never a thought in my mind that I’m not going to be doing it.”
He added, “There’s always a chance, as a pro, you might be doing some performances on the show and there’s still an involvement in some sort. But getting this call, (hearing) ‘There’s gonna be no involvement in the show from now on,’ it’s like going through a breakup after 10 years.”
Dancer Sharna Burgess, who was also cut ahead of season 28, is also returning to the “DWTS” fold.
And in another stunning shake-up, when the show kicks off, Tyra Banks will be at the helm as the show’s new solo host. The news that the former “America’s Next Top Model” star will replace former hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews has had a mixed reception.
“Dancing with the Stars” returns to ABC on 14 September.

AceShowbiz – Britt Stewart is “over the moon” for her new role on “Dancing with the Stars.” The 30-year-old has made history on the long-running ABC’s dancing competition show by becoming its first black female pro-dancer after she got promoted from troupe member to professional dancer for season 29.
On Tuesday, August 18, the dancer took to Instagram to express her excitement. “It’s actually happening!!! I am over the moon to be a first time PRO on Season 29 of @dancingabc,” she began her post. “My heart is filled with gratitude to have been given this opportunity.”
“I can hardly contain my excitement to step into this new position,” she continued. “Congratulations to the rest of my beautiful #DWTS family. I love you and can’t wait to be back in the ballroom with you all.”

When speaking to ET about her appointment as pro-dancer, Stewart gushed, “I’m just so grateful, so excited and over the moon, honestly. Ever since I found out, I just don’t really know what to do with myself. So much excitement, so much emotion.” She added that she had learned about it around a week prior.
On how she initially reacted to the news, the “High School Musical” dancer spilled, “When it set in, emotion really took over.” She went on admitting, “I started crying and then immediately when I got off the Zoom call [with producers] I called my mom and I was just like, ‘Ahh!’ and just all the tears were flowing.”

Alan Bersten, Emma Slater, Sasha Farber, Brandon Armstrong, Jenna Johnson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Pasha Pashkov, Peta Murgatroyd, Gleb Savchenko and Cheryl Burke are among the returning pros, while Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson will be absent due to their pregnancies.

The ‘World of Dance’ judge, who used to be a professional dancer on the ABC show, shares that he’s ‘optimistic for that switch-up,’ but he is ‘definitely shocked about Tom Bergeron.’
    Jul 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tom Bergeron’s exit from “Dancing with the Stars” is shocking not only to fans, but also Derek Hough. The 35-year-old, who used to be a professional dancer on the ABC show, revealed his initial reaction to Tom and co-host Erin Andrews being let go from the series.
“My initial reaction, I guess I was pretty shocked,” Derek told Bevy Smith on the Tuesday, July 28 episode of SiriusXM’s Bevelations. “Tom Bergeron is such a staple on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and he’s a good friend of mine. He’s just a good man.”
He kept gushing over Tom, who was the OG host of “Dancing with the Stars”, saying, “He’s been there since the beginning. He’s just a great guy.”
However, Derek noted that nothing is ever certain in the entertainment industry. “You also understand that in the entertainment industry nothing is certain,” the “World of Dance” judge shared. “There’s always those efforts to reinvigorate and switch things up, so you look at that and it’s also understandable.”
As for Tyra Banks, who is tapped to take over the hosting duty, Derek has nothing but praises. “You know, Tyra Banks, I’ve come in contact with her several times and I think she’s fantastic,” the Utah native said. “I thought she was a fantastic host on ‘America’s Got Talent’. I thought she did an amazing job.”
Derek said that he was “optimistic for that switch-up,” but he was “definitely shocked about Tom Bergeron.” Concluding his interview, Derek said, “I’m always sort of a cheerleader for shows to succeed. For me, especially for shows that I’ve been a part of, that I love and hold dear to my heart, I want ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to succeed and do well.”

  • Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews Appear to React to Tyra Banks Being Announced as New 'DWTS' Host

    WENN/FayesVision

This arrives after the former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ host was revealed to replace Tom and Erin as the hosts of the ABC dancing competition in addition to serving as executive producer.
    Jul 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – ABC didn’t waste a long time to reveal that Tyra Banks will be taking over the hosting duties on “Dancing With the Stars” from OG host Tom Bergeron and co-host Erin Andrews. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, July 15, Tom and Erin seemingly shared their reaction to the matter.
“I guess I won’t be getting back my monogrammed towels,” so Tom wrote not long after Tyra was named as the new host of the show in addition to serving as executive producer. Erin apparently caught wind of the tweet and jokingly responded, “You got towels @TomBergeron??” alongside a winking and a laughing emojis.
Playing along with Erin, Tom replied, “I’m sorry this is how you had to find out.”

Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews seemingly reacted to being replaced by Tyra Banks on ‘DWTS’.
In the replies, meanwhile, fans expressed their disappointment over them being replaced on the ballroom competition series. “Are you kidding me???? They fired two white hosts and replaced them with a black host and nobody is calling them out for discrimination? I’m all for diversity, but this was wrong. I hope you and @ErinAndrews sue them! @ABCNetwork ABC and @DancingABC are banned in my home!” a passionate fan wrote to Tom.
Some others assumed that Tyra would be hosting “Dancing with the Stars” for too long. “You’ll be back. Tyra will quit DWTS like she quits everything else. No shade, just the truth,” one user believed. Echoing the sentiment, another person added, “Tyra did 1 season on AGT. Apparently she’s the get around girl. The ratings will fall. Im not watching.”
Tyra was named as the new host just one day after ABC confirmed Tom and Erin’s exits. “I’ve been a fan of ‘DWTS’ since its beginning. The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances,” Tyra said in a statement on Tuesday, July 14. “It’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk. Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats.”
It was reported that the former “America’s Got Talent” host, who also used to host “America’s Next Top Model”, was in talks with the Alphabet network long before it cut ties with Tom and Erin. As for the upcoming season of “DWTS”, there is still no detail about how “DWTS” will proceed amid coronavirus pandemic. However, one of the certain things about the new season is that “The Bachelor” alum Kaitlyn Bristowe will appear on the show.
