Jennifer Lopez Enlists Her Kids to Debut New Sultry Song 'In the Morning'

Days leading up to the world premiere of the track, the ‘Hustlers’ star teased it with an NSFW cover art featuring her flaunting her muscular body in nothing but her birthday suit.

    Nov 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez’s new track “In the Morning” is here for fans’ listening pleasure. Days after teasing it with several sultry posts on her Instagram account, the 51-year-old singer/dancer dropped the track in full on late Thursday night, November 26.
The “Jenny From the Block” hitmaker enlisted the help of her twins, Max and Emme, as well as her fiance Alex Rodriguez’s daughters, Natasha and Ella, to debut the song. They had a “virtual Thanksgiving dance party” on Instagram Live to celebrate the song’s release.

Apparently they were supposed to dance together to the track in the living room, but J.Lo ended up being the only one dancing in the room. “Why am I dancing by myself?” she asked at one point, prompting the kids to yell from the background, “Sorry mom.”

In “In the Morning”, J.Lo warns her man who only shows his love for her when he wants her “body.” “If you love me/ Say it in the morning/ Not just in the evening/ Only when you want my body/ Want my body,” she sings in the chorus.
Prior to the song’s release, J.Lo teased the song with an NSFW cover art featuring her baring her muscular physique as she wears nothing but her birthday suit. “Surprise! Here’s the official cover art for #InTheMorning Single drops Friday,” she wrote along with the image taken by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who have also worked with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna and Angelina Jolie.
She also invited her fans to join the “virtual Thanksgiving dance party” earlier on Thursday, writing on Twitter, “Join me for a virtual Thanksgiving dance party ON Instagram Live TONIGHT at 11:45 pm EST! We’re celebrating the world premiere of #InTheMorning. There will be surprise #TurkeyEggs! Bring the whole fam!”
J.Lo recently teamed up with Maluma on new songs “Pa Ti” and “Lonely” that are included in the soundtrack to her upcoming movie “Marry Me”, which is due out on Valentine’s Day 2021. It’s not clear if “In the Morning” will also be featured in the soundtrack.

Jennifer Lopez Accused of Stealing From Beyonce With 2020 AMAs Performance

The ‘Jenny from the Block’ singer’s short hair, sexy catsuit and chair dance during her set at the American Music Awards draw comparison to Beyonce’s 2014 Grammys performance.

    Nov 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez has created a buzz online following her performance at the 2020 American Music Awards, but not all for a good reason. The singer has been accused of stealing Beyonce Knowles’ concept for her set at the Sunday, November 22 show.
The “Hustlers” star set the temperature rising with her steamy performance that night as she donned a semi-sheer catsuit while performing “Pa Ti”. Rocking short hair, she also showed sensual chair dance with several backup dancers during her solo set.
J.Lo was later joined by Maluma to deliver “Lonely”. The 51-year-old actress seduced her collaborator as she hopped on top of a table and got hot and heavy with the 26-year-old Colombian-born singer.
While many were mesmerized by J.Lo’s performance, Beyhive couldn’t help noticing that the Latina songstress/dancer’s outfit, look and dance were similar to their favorite artist’s at the 2014 Grammy Awards. They soon took Twitter to make the accusation against the “On the Floor” hitmaker.

“jlo wanna be beyonce so bad, the thief striked once again,” one person posted on the blue bird app alongside a side-by-side picture of J.Lo at 2020 AMAs and Bey at 2014 Grammys. Another remarked, “jlo really had beyonce’s grammys 2014 look.”

“Outfit, hair, dance… but one thing is sure: she CAN’T sing like queen Beyonce. Beyonce is the standard, so I’m not really surprised,” a third user slammed J.Lo. A fourth person insisted, “Before y’all talk about ‘Beyonce didn’t invent dancing on a chair’ let’s not act like J-Lo didn’t have the same outfit, same hairstyle & similar choreography.”
Some others claimed J.Lo has had a long history of copying other artists’ concepts, with one commenting, “Jennifer has been stealing from black women for years.” Another cheeky user, meanwhile, described J.Lo and Maluma’s set as “beyonce and jay-z performing drunk in love #AMAs2020.”
There were a few, however, who have come to J.Lo’s defense, with one saying, “She was inspired by King Bey,” instead of stealing from Bey. Another clapped back at the haters, “Everyone is always hating.”
“JLO has been doing this chair dance for years even performs it in Vegas y’all are so problematic and bored.. they need to let y’all go outside more,” a J.Lo fan claimed. Another person blasted the critics for “reaching.”

J.Lo herself has not responded to the allegations of her stealing Bey’s concept.

'Hustlers' Producers Come Out Victorious Against Real-Life Stripper's Lawsuit

    STX Entertainment

District Court Judge Denise Cote has dismissed Samantha Barbash’s legal claims that Jennifer Lopez based her role of Ramona on her and that the film’s drug use depiction was inaccurate.

    Nov 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – The real-life stripper who inspired Jennifer Lopez’s character in “Hustlers” has lost her lawsuit for invasion of privacy and defamation.
Samantha Barbash filed her legal claim in New York in January, claiming J.Lo based her role of Ramona on her, even though she had rejected an offer from executives at the superstar’s Nuyorican Productions company to sign off on the rights to her life story for the hit drama, about a group of exotic dancers who con their wealthy broker clients.
Barbash, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy, assault, and grand larceny in 2015, also sued for defamation, because Ramona was portrayed as “using and manufacturing illegal substances in her home where she lived with her child” – something she insists never happened.

The defendants challenged the allegations and requested the case be dismissed, and on Tuesday, November 10, their wish was granted by U.S. District Court Judge Denise Cote.
The judge ruled Barbash couldn’t claim invasion of privacy because her “name, portrait, picture, or voice” was never used in the marketing of the film, according to the New York Post.
Regarding her defamation argument, Judge Cote noted the film’s drug use depiction was inaccurate, but as Barbash failed to prove actual malice, the lawsuit was tossed and the case closed.
The judge wrote, “Barbash pled guilty to drugging individuals without their consent. The Pressler Article reports that Barbash concocted the recipe for the mixture of illegal drugs that rendered the scheme’s victims vulnerable to the fraud. Nor does the FAC plead that the Defendants acted with malice in asserting that Barbash herself used drugs. That assertion is the least offensive of all of the statements of which Barbash complains and is naturally connected to the scheme to which Barbash pleaded guilty and which she discussed with journalists.”

  • Jennifer Lopez Defended Against Backlash for Calling Herself 'Black Girl' on New Song

    Instagram

On her Maluma collaboration ‘Lonely’, the diva sings, ‘Yo siempre sere tu negrita del Bronx,’ which translates into, ‘I’ll always be your black girl from the Bronx.’

    Oct 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez recently collaborated with Maluma on a Latin song, “Lonely”, though it looks like people did not appreciate the song as much. Following the release of the song, the Bronx diva received backlash because one of the verses found her referring to herself as a black girl.
J.Lo sang on the song, “Yo siempre sere tu negrita del Bronx,” which translated into, “I’ll always be your black girl from the Bronx.” Once people, especially the Black community, learned of the translation, they quickly took to social media to blast the actress and singer because she is far from being black.

For instance, one person said, “J Lo mad irritating. Now everybody wanna be Black. Girl go the f**k on somewhere.” There was also someone who commented, “I don’t like J.Lo she’s just a wanna be black girl that can hit a two step. She’s an All Lives Matter supporter and now she’s calling herself a ‘black girl from the Bronx’ idek why she still makes music my dog has better vocal agility than her. Just no.”
J.Lo herself has yet to respond to the backlash, though some people have since come to her defense by pointing out that the word “negrita” actually refers to dark or brown skin Latin girls, not African American. Some also said that it is a term of endearment. “If you aren’t Hispanic… don’t comment. FYI in our culture You don’t literally need to be black to be negrita or negrito,” one said.
“Wow !! You guys need to get your facts straight first !! That’s what brown skinned people call themselves in the BRonx!! Negrita or negrito omg chill !!! That doesn’t mean BLACK,” another echoed the sentiment. “Y’all doing too much it’s a pet name doesn’t translate to be black girl now if she said Morena from the Bronx that’ll be different,” someone else hit back at the critics.

  • Jennifer Lopez Gets Real About Why She Can Relate to Her 'Marry Me' Character

    Instagram

Aside from pointing out her similarity to Kat in the romantic comedy, the ‘Feelin’ So Good’ hitmaker explains why she was thrilled to be part of a movie genre she feels is often devalued.
    Oct 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez found it “cathartic” to play “just a girl” in the romantic comedy “Marry Me” – because that’s how she views herself.
Lopez stars as singer Kat in the film, who discovers her fiance, played by Colombian singer/songwriter Maluma, is cheating on her, moments before they are due to wed during a concert. Determined to go through with the ceremony, J.Lo’s character picks a random mathematics teacher from the audience, portrayed by Owen Wilson, and decides to exchange vows with him instead.
And the singer and actress totally connected with Kat.
“It was a little cathartic for me. I was playing (a character) trying to find someone who understood her and accepted her for all of what her life was but also just saw her as a person,” she tells Billboard. “Like a real girl, which is what I am. People see you as this thing, this star. They forget that you’re just a girl and want to live and laugh and be normal. And that really was what the movie is about.”

The “Feelin’ So Good” hitmaker was also thrilled to be part of a movie genre she feels is often devalued.
“They’re necessary, beautiful movies, and I don’t know why people feel like they have to put them down when everybody enjoys them so much,” she says of lighthearted romances. “It’s like ‘chick flicks.’ I don’t know guys who don’t love to go to the movies and watch a rom-com. It’s a very sweet movie, but it’s still a movie about life.”
“Marry Me” is set to open ahead of the Valentine’s Day holiday on 12 February (21).

Jennifer Lopez's Planned U.K. Tour Thrown Up in the Air Due to Coronavirus Crisis

    WENN/Instar

Aside from the ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ hitmaker, other stars like Cher, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Billie Eilish have also been affected by the ongoing pandemic following WHO’s social distancing advice.
    Mar 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez’s plans to hit the road this year with a new world tour have reportedly been axed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the 50-year-old hitmaker was set to hit the road with a new world tour, but the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” hitmaker’s plans have dashed due to the global health crisis.
“Jennifer was involved in talks about a series of headline UK shows which promoters believed would sell out in an instant,” a source said. “Unfortunately, the current situation has thrown a spanner in the works and those talks are no longer happening at the moment. With artists being forced to cancel tours left, right and centre, it just doesn’t make sense to push forward with her plans now.”
Numerous stars have been affected by the pandemic, with Cher, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Billie Eilish among the acts cancelling shows, as the World Health Organisation (WHO) advises people to practice social distancing and stay home in a bid to prevent the spread of Covid-19, which has seen more than 315,000 cases registered, resulting in a death toll of over 13,500.
Earlier this week (begins March 16), Jennifer told fans on social media she was at home with 12-year-old twins Max and Emme, where she was “reading scripts, developing new projects, even working out and learning new dance routines,” as she hopes to “bounce back” once the virus is eliminated.

Jennifer Lopez Says She Doesn't Need Oscars to Tell Her That She Did Good Job in 'Hustlers'

    STX Entertainment

Following the Academy Award snub, the ‘On the Floor’ hitmaker finally realizes she doesn’t need people’s validation to tell her that her onscreen performance is good.
    Mar 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Lopez’s Oscars snub for her role in “Hustlers” helped her realise she “doesn’t need this award right here to tell me that I am enough.”
The star was hotly tipped for awards success for her acclaimed role as Ramona in the 2019 box office hit, also starring Cardi B, Constance Wu, and Lizzo.
While she failed to bag a nomination on the Academy Awards shortlist, the singer/actress told Oprah Winfrey during her 2020 Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in Los Angeles, the 50-year-old confessed the incident worked out well for her after all.
“I was sad, I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it. There were so many articles, I got so many good notices – more than ever in my career – and there was a lot of ‘She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar, it’s going to happen, if it doesn’t you’re crazy,’ ” she said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Despite the snub, the “On the Floor” star said she had to look at all the accomplishments she received over the past 12 months, including her massive It’s My Party Tour in honour of her 50th birthday, and her headlining slot at the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Shakira, which helped her realise there was more to life than accolades.
“You want people’s validation, you want people to say you did a good job,” she said. “And I realised, ‘No you don’t need that, you do this because you love it,’ eventually realising that ‘I don’t need this award right here to tell me that I am enough.’ ”
