Ray Fisher Reacts After 'Justice League' Investigation Concludes With 'Remedial Action' Taken

    Instagram

The Cyborg depicter relays a message from Warner Media addressing the conclusion of its investigation into the actor’s allegations of abusive behavior against director Joss Whedon.

    Dec 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ray Fisher has scored a victory following months-long back and forth between him and Joss Whedon regarding his allegations of toxic work environment on the set of “Justice League”. Warner Bros. launched an investigation into the actor’s claims and on Friday, December 11, it announced that it has concluded the investigation.
“WarnerMedia’s investigation into the Justice League movie has concluded and remedial action has been taken,” the studio said in a statement, while remaining tight-lipped on the findings and the repercussion to those involved in the allegations. Fisher, however, believed that Whedon’s recent exit from HBO’s “The Nevers” had something to do with the investigation.
Meanwhile, Fisher seemed to be rather pleased with the results. Relaying a message he received from Warner Media, he tweeted, “The following was relayed to me on behalf of @WarnerMedia at 5pm EST today: – The investigation of Justice League is now complete.”
“It has lead to remedial action (Some we’ve seen, and some that is still to come),” read the second point. “And this statement (which truly belongs to ALL who participated in the investigation): ‘WarnerMedia appreciates you having the courage to come forward and assist the company with creating an inclusive and equitable work environment for it’s employees and partners.’ ”

Regardless the conclusion of the investigation, the Cyborg depicter said, “There are still conversations that need to be had and resolutions that need to be found.” He expressed his gratitude to those who have been supporting him as writing, “Thank you all for your support and encouragement on this journey,” before concluding with, “We are on our way. More soon.”

Ray Fisher reacted to end of ‘Justice League’ investigation.
Fisher first came with the allegations against Whedon, who took over the directing role from Zack Snyder during the pre-production of “Justice League”, in July. In an interview with Forbes, he claimed to have heard “blatantly racist conversations” among studio executives. He also complained about “massive blowups, threats, coercion, taunting, unsafe work conditions, belittling, and gaslighting like you wouldn’t believe” on the set.
Jason Momoa, Fisher’s co-star in the 2017 movie, publicly supported the 33-year-old actor and demanded proper investigation into Fisher’s claims. “THIS S**T HAS TO STOP AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT @ray8fisher AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO EXPERIENCED WHAT HAPPEN UNDER THE WATCH OF @wbpictures NEEDS PROPER INVESTIGATION,” he tweeted in September, before confirming Fisher’s claims about “the s**tty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots.”

Zack Snyder Claims His 'Justice League' Cut Includes Over Two Hours of Unseen Footage

    HBO Max

Speaking about his mini-series will debut in 2021, the ‘Batman v Superman’ director reveals the biggest change will affect Ezra Miller’s the Flash character and his power for super speed.

    Nov 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Moviemaker Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” revamp will feature well over two hours of unreleased material.
The director was forced to abandon the 2017 superhero movie due to a family tragedy, and hand over the reins to Joss Whedon, but when disgruntled fans demanded to see the film that he would have completed last year, a ‘Snyder Cut’ campaign was launched and Zack has been piecing together a four-hour epic for HBO Max for much of 2020.
The mini-series will debut in 2021 and Snyder reveals it won’t look much like Whedon’s version of his film.

“I am looking at the actual visual effects shots because the cut is locked, so I’m just looking at these shots everyday as they come in,” he tells Vero. “It’s really exciting and I’m excited for you guys to see the giant amount of movie that you have coming your way… It is probably a solid two and a half hours of unseen footage in this movie.”
“That’s gonna be fun for everyone to experience this for the first time.”
The director reveals the biggest change will affect Ezra Miller’s the Flash character – and his power for super speed: “I know a lot of people love that aspect of it; I just don’t… I think it goes against physics. You (can) say they’re (people) protected by the Speed Force, but that’s open to interpretation.
“I feel like if you grab someone at the speed he’s moving at, you could literally tear their arm out of its socket. He’s moving so fast, it would literally peel the flesh off of somebody’s body, so he’s gotta be super careful with humans inside of the Speed Force.”

Zack Snyder to Put the Focus of Another 'Justice League' Spin-Off on Darkseid

    WENN/FayesVision

The filmmaker behind a four-part director’s cut series of ‘Justice League’ admits to already have that answer to the question about what happens when Ray Porter’s villainous character comes to Earth.

    Nov 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Zack Snyder is planning a “Justice League” spin-off focusing on Ray Porter’s villain Darkseid.
The filmmaker, who is currently completing a director’s cut of “Justice League” which is set to air as a four-part series on HBO Max next year (21), is now mulling over another superhero/supervillain project thanks to a chat with Porter.
“If you said to any of the actors in the movie, ‘Well, what happens in the movie?’, or, ‘What happens later…’ and they go, ‘Well, I got the script and it’s cool and I kind of know this and…’ So Ray and I were talking about this and what’s cool or what’s the right response to some questions,” Snyder said during a League of Mayhem livestream.
“It’s a fair question to ask me, you know, like what do I say to the world about, you know, what happens when Darkseid comes to Earth? Then what? You know, is that a thing?”

“The truth is that did I write and did I have and conceive a complete ‘Do I know what happens when Darkseid…?’ Yes, I do know what happens. To say and to speculate about what that is would be exciting, I think that’s a fine thing.”

And Porter has made it clear he’s keen to play the bad guy again.
“I would love to see a continuation of it,” he explains. “I personally would love to see a continuation of Zack’s story… That would be great. I’ve not heard anything about it, but you know. Hope.”

'Justice League' Helmer Joss Whedon Calls Ray Fisher's Claim of Altering Actor's Skin Color 'False'

    WENN/FayesVision

The cyborg depicter has detailed an alleged instance which prompted him to speak out about Whedon, saying that he heard ‘blatantly racist conversations’ among studio executives.

    Oct 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Justice League” director Joss Whedon has denied Ray Fisher’s latest allegation that he digitally altered the skin tone of a person of color in the movie. In a statement released through his spokesperson, the filmmaker labeled the claim as “false.”
“The individual who offered this statement acknowledged that this was just something that he had heard from someone else and accepted as truth, when in fact simple research would prove that it was false,” Whedon said in the statement.
Explaining the editing process of a movie, “The Avengers” helmer continued, “As is standard on almost all films, there were numerous people involved with mixing the final product, including the editor, special effects person, composer, etc. with the senior colorist responsible for the final version’s tone, colors, and mood.”
“This process was further complicated on this project by the fact that [original director] Zack [Snyder] shot on film, while Joss shot on digital, which required the team, led by the same senior colorist who has worked on previous films for Zack, to reconcile the two,” the statement claimed.
But Fisher stands firm on his claim. In response to Whedon’s denial, the Cyborg depicter said in a statement to CinemaBlend, “This is only a hair’s breadth away from Berg’s, ‘Fisher was upset about booyah’ defense.”

“I’ve been trying my best to make sure that Joss Whedon and Jon Berg aren’t able to be thrown completely under the bus by the other guys. But when they make these half baked knee-jerk excuses publicly, they make my job a lot harder. I’m settling in with my family for the night,” he said, before promising, “I’ll have a more in-depth response tomorrow.”
Previously, Fisher elaborated his allegations of toxic work environment which he first raised against Whedon in July. In an interview with Forbes, he claimed to have heard “blatantly racist conversations” among studio executives.
“What set my soul on fire and forced me to speak out about Joss Whedon this summer was my becoming informed that Joss had ordered that the complexion of an actor of color be changed in post-production because he didn’t like the color of their skin tone,” the 33-year-old actor said. “Man, with everything 2020’s been, that was the tipping point for me.”
The magazine noted that multiple actors of color had their parts heavily reduced or completely cut from the film’s theatrical release, including Ryan Choi’s Zheng Kai and Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West. In response to this, Whedon’s representatives said that these decisions were made prior to him leading the project.
But Fisher said that “race was just one of the issues with the reshoot process.” He also complained about “massive blowups, threats, coercion, taunting, unsafe work conditions, belittling, and gaslighting like you wouldn’t believe” on the set.
Warner Bros. has since launched an internal investigation regarding Fisher’s claims, though the studio claimed that Fisher was not cooperative with a third-party investigator.

  • Jason Momoa Calls for 'Proper Investigation' Following Ray Fisher's Accusations Against Joss Whedon

    WENN

The ‘Aquaman’ actor urges bosses at Warner Brothers to conduct ‘proper investigation’ into claims that the former Marvel director is unprofessional and abusive.
    Sep 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jason Momoa has urged Warner Bros. bosses to conduct a “proper investigation” into his “Justice League” co-star Ray Fisher’s allegations that they were treated unprofessionally on the set of the superhero movie.
The “Aquaman” star previously offered his support to Fisher, who hit headlines when he claimed Joss Whedon’s treatment of the cast and crew on the film set was “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” by posting on Instagram “#IStandWithRayFisher.”
Fisher sparked a feud with the studio after making it clear he would not be cooperating with an investigation into the misconduct claims he made against Whedon, who he alleged was “enabled” by producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, telling fans, “Thank you all for the support and for seeing through @wbpictures desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power.”
And on Monday (14Sep20), Momoa went into further details about how he’s backing Fisher as he reiterated his allegations about the bad treatment of the actors on the set.
“THIS S**T HAS TO STOP AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT @ray8fisher AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO EXPERIENCED WHAT HAPPEN UNDER THE WATCH OF @wbpictures NEEDS PROPER INVESTIGATION,” he wrote alongside a picture of himself and Fisher at a Comic-Con panel event for the film. “I just think it’s f**ked up that people released a fake Frosty announcement without my permission to try to distract from Ray Fisher speaking up about the s**tty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots.”
Momoa was referring to Warner Bros. announcement of an upcoming “Frosty the Snowman” movie, said to be produced by Berg and Johns, which he was reported to have taken the title role in. The announcement was made on the same day as Fisher’s initial claims.
He concluded his Instagram post by writing, “Serious stuff went down. It needs to be investigated and people need to be held accountable. #IStandWithRayFisher.”

  • Jason Momoa Stands With Ray Fisher Amid His Allegations Against Joss Whedon

The ‘Aquaman’ actor takes to Instagram Stories to show his support for his ‘Justice League’ co-star after Warner Bros. claims that the Cyborg depicter refuses to co-operate in a misconduct investigation into the director.
    Sep 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Those who fight together are staying together. Jason Momoa has shown his loyalty to his “Justice League” co-star Ray Fisher amid the latter’s allegations against Joss Whedon, who took over the helming duty from Zack Snyder for the 2017 movie.
On Monday, September 7, the “Aquaman”actor took to his Instagram Stories to declare his support for Fisher. Posting a photo of the Cyborg depicter wearing an “I [heart] ZS” at a San Diego Comic-Con panel, the 41-year-old hunk wrote over it, “#IstandWithRayFisher.”
Fisher then reposted Momoa’s Story on his Twitter account. Expressing his enthusiasm, the 32-year-old actor wrote in the caption, “Let’s Go!!! #BORGLIFE.” He added, “Accountability >Entertainment.”

Ray Fisher reposted Jason Momoa’s Instagram Story.
Fisher first opened up about his grievances against Whedon in July, accusing the filmmaker of “abusive and unprofessional” behavior on the set of the superhero ensemble film. He also alleged that producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg enabled Whedon’s behavior.
Weeks later, Warner Bros. launched an investigation into Fisher’s claims. However, according to a statement released by studio executives earlier this month, Fisher has not been cooperating with an independent third party investigator, who was hired at his request.
According to the statement, Fisher’s disappointment started when he had disagreements with the film’s creative team regarding his portrayal of Cyborg, and complained that his suggested script revisions were not adopted. “WarnerMedia nonetheless initiated an investigation into the concerns he’d raised about his character’s portrayal. Still not satisfied, Mr. Fisher insisted that WarnerMedia hire an independent third party investigator,” the studio execs said.
They went on claiming, “This investigator has attempted multiple times to meet with Mr. Fisher to discuss his concerns but, to date, Mr. Fisher has declined to speak to the investigator.”
Fisher denied that he has been uncooperative in the investigation, claiming, “I met with the investigator via Zoom on Aug 26th.” He also called WB’s claims against him a “desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power.”
In his Twitter post, Fisher included an email he sent to his team in which he said that he ended the interview early because he felt he needed to consult with his team before proceeding with the call. He added, “It’s also worth noting that I made it clear to the world on Aug 21st that I would be vetting the investigator to ensure a fair and protected process for all witnesses. @wbpictures has escalated this to an entirely different level, but I’m ready to meet the challenge.”

  • Ray Fisher Claps Back at Studio Bosses as He Denies Being Uncooperative in Joss Whedon Investigation

    WENN

The Cyborg depicter has fired back at Warner Brothers, accusing the studio bosses of smear campaign and denying being uncooperative in Whedon misconduct investigation.
    Sep 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actor Ray Fisher has clapped back at claims from Warner Bros. bosses that he’s not cooperating with an investigation into misconduct claims he made “Justice League” director Joss Whedon.
Back in July (20), Fisher aired his grievances against the filmmaker, accusing him of “abusive and unprofessional” behaviour.
The Cyborg actor’s claims have since caused Warner Bros. to launch a misconduct investigation into Whedon and Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, producers of the 2017 flick.
According to a statement released by studio executives, Fisher has not been cooperating with an independent third party investigator, who was hired at his request – allegations he’s refuted.
Taking to social media, the star hit back at the company’s statement while thanking fans on Twitter for their continued support.
“Thank you all for the support and for seeing through @wbpictures desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power. I met with the investigator via Zoom on Aug 26th. Below is an email I sent to my team and @sagaftra immediately after,” Ray tweeted on Saturday.
In the email that Ray sent to his team, he said that he ended the interview early because he felt he needed to consult with his team before proceeding with the call.
Ray added, “It’s also worth noting that I made it clear to the world on Aug 21st that I would be vetting the investigator to ensure a fair and protected process for all witnesses. @wbpictures has escalated this to an entirely different level, but I’m ready to meet the challenge.”
Officials from the studio have yet to respond to Fisher’s latest comments.
