      AceShowbiz – “Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special” has released the first two promos for the highly-anticipated interview between Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Markle as well as Prince Harry. In the promos, which were released on Sunday, February 28, the couple seemingly gets candid in the interview.
      “You’ve said some pretty shocking things here,” Oprah says to Prince Harry. The said shocking revelations seemingly are about the Duke of Sussex’s late mother Princess Diana.
      The British prince goes on to share, “My biggest concern was history repeating itself. I’m really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been for her going through this process by herself all these years ago.”

      According to CBS, “Oprah with Meghan and Harry” features Oprah speaking with “Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.”
      “Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family,” the statement continued.
      Prior to this, it was said that Meghan and Harry would potentially lose all of their royal privileges ahead of the 90-minute tell-all sit-down. Harry allegedly was more than likely to be stripped of his three remaining honorary military titles, his patronages with the Rugby Football Union, Rugby Football League and the London Marathon. Additionally, he might lose any other links with the Royal Family organizations.
      As for Meghan, the former “Suits” actress might also have to step down as patron of the National Theatre. The report further claimed that Meghan and Harry most likely need to give up their links with the Commonwealth.

      AceShowbiz – Prince Harry is “more comfortable” watching a fictionalised take on his life in Netflix’s “The Crown” than reading “news” about his family in the tabloids.
      The Duke of Sussex shared his thoughts on the show – which chronicles his mother and father Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage and split in its latest season – as he toured Los Angeles with James Corden in a segment on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on Thursday night (25Feb21).
      “They don’t pretend to be news,” Harry replied when asked what he made of the programme. “It’s fictional, but it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate. It gives you a rough idea of what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.”

      “I’m way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself. It’s the difference between… that is obviously fiction, take it how you will, but this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”
      Harry, who is expecting his second child with wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, went on to admit he’d like to see Damian Lewis play him on the small screen when the series features him as an adult.

      Elsewhere in the segment, Harry and James visited the house from TV show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, and FaceTimed Meghan to see what she thought about putting in an offer on the property.

      The interview between Oprah Winfrey and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has reportedly sparked a bidding war among U.K. major networks ahead of March 7 airing on CBS.

      AceShowbiz – ITV are expected to air Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
      The 67-year-old broadcast legend has landed the couple’s first major chat since they stepped away from the British royal family and there has been a bidding war in Prince Harry’s native U.K. to acquire the rights for the CBS primetime special, which will air in the U.S. on 7 March (21).
      According to Variety, Amazon and Netflix were never in the running, nor were the BBC, leaving ITV to battle it out with Sky.
      And it’s believed the paid-for broadcaster have now dropped out of the bidding war, leaving the terrestrial network as the frontrunners to screen the tell-all interview.

      It is believed Viacom CBS Global Distribution Group, who will sell the programme overseas, would favour a free-to-air broadcaster to boost its platform, but Harry and Meghan are likely to have a final say in where it airs.
      The royal couple previously gave an interview to ITV’s Tom Bradby in the “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” documentary in 2019 while the network also screen the Royal Variety Performance, an annual entertainment show attended by senior royals.
      The interview is expected to initially focus on the former actress – who is pregnant with her second child, a sibling for 21-month-old Archie – and her life, before her husband joins in with the conversation to talk about their future together.
      A statement from CBS confirming the news of the interview read, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.”
      “Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

      Admitting this year has been “universally challenging for everyone,” Meghan added, “They made sure those around them did not have to suffer in isolation.”

      Meghan’s video was her first appearance since she revealed she had suffered a miscarriage earlier this summer in a piece written for the New York Times.
      “I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears. Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal,” she wrote.
      Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, are parents to 18-month-old son Archie.
      The Duchess, who urged people to make the discussion of miscarriage less of a taboo subject, received mixed reactions following her miscarriage reveal. British reporter Marco Giannangeli commented, “Is anyone really questioning the pain and sheer awfulness of suffering a miscarriage, or are they perhaps critising Meghan’s decision to write a 1,000 word op-Ed about herself? What does it add to the resources already available for those who go through a tragedy like this?”
      But Meghan was defended by Chrissy Teigen who experienced the tragic loss of her own unborn son at the end of September.

      However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now released a statement via a spokesperson, denying any plans to turn their lives into reality TV.
      “The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows,” they confirmed to HELLO! magazine.

      Meanwhile, a Netflix spokesman told the Press Association, “The couple already has several projects in development, including an innovative nature docuseries and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women but we are not disclosing any of the programming slate at this time.”
      A source previously told U.K. tabloid The Sun the couple was planning a reality show as part of their deal with Netflix to give fans “a glimpse into their lives.”
      The Duke and Duchess opted to partner with Netflix, revealing the company’s “unprecedented reach” will help them “share impactful content that unlocks action.”
      “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple said in a statement. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
      Netflix currently boasts 193 million subscribers worldwide.

      According to reports, cameras are set to follow them for three months. A source also shared to The Sun that the couple are hoping to “give people a glimpse into their lives and see all the charity work they do.”
      “It will be tasteful. They want to give people a glimpse into their lives,” explained the insider. “They may have had all these lofty ideas about producing epics highlighting environmental causes and the poverty gap, but Netflix obviously want their pound of flesh.”

      Another also claimed that Meghan wants to show the “real her” through the reality show. It is, however, unknown whether the show will offer a glimpse of their alleged £11.5 million, nine-bedroom home in Montecito.

      “Of course, money is no object,” a source told the publication. “Meghan Markle will be more or less able to name her price for exclusively working with them on a podcast series.”
      They added, “The Duke and Duchess have been on their hit list for a while. A detailed proposal is set to be presented to Meghan’s US agent in a matter of weeks.”
      It comes after the platform signed former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, who has since recorded a series of podcasts touching on topics ranging from friendships to the coronavirus pandemic, including an instalment with her husband, former U.S. President Barack Obama.
      Further details of Spotify bosses plans for the couple’s contribution to the platform have yet to be announced, but the royals are known for speaking out on issues including feminism, racial equality, and mental health.

      The insiders also insist Meghan has no desire to return to the screen as an actress.
      One of the meetings Harry and Meghan recently had reportedly involved NBCUniversal executive Bonnie Hammer, who has a history with the Duchess from her time on hit legal drama “Suits”.
      Representatives for the couple and for NBCUniversal have declined to comment on the report, which emerges four months after Meghan returned to her career roots to narrate Disney+ docuseries “Elephants”.
      Prince Harry has already tried his hand as a producer after partnering with media mogul Oprah Winfrey in 2019 to develop an Apple TV+ series about mental health. The programme is expected to premiere later this year.
