  • Lady GaGa Tops U.K. Albums Chart for Second Week

The ‘Rain On Me’ singer stays at the top spot across the pond with her latest studio installment ‘Chromatica’, holding off British indie rockers Sports Team.
    Jun 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa’s “Chromatica” is still the U.K.’s number one album after holding off a spirited challenge from British indie rockers Sports Team. “Chromatica” keeps the chart crown for a second week after topping Friday’s June 12, 2020 Official Charts Company rundown by just 600 chart sales.
Sports Team’s debut “Deep Down Happy” finished just behind in second spot after a week in which the Cambridge University educated band attempted to beat GaGa by drumming up sales on social media.
At three is U.S. rockers All Time Low’s “Wake Up, Sunshine”, with Lewis Capaldi’s “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent” at four, and YouTuber turned rapper KSI’s “Dissimulation” completing the top five.
There’s also no change at the top of the singles chart, with DaBaby and Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar” making it a fourth non-consecutive week and second week in a row at the summit. Lady GaGa and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me” stays at two, with S1mba and DTG’s “Rover” also a non-mover at three.
German DJ Topic is at four with his collaboration with Swedish singer A7S. Rounding out the top five is Powfu and Beabadoobee’s “Death Bed”.

  • Dream Street Get Together to Sing 'It Happens Every Time' in Memory of Chris Trousdale

    Instagram

Jesse McCartney, Greg Raposo, Matt Ballinger and Frankie Galasso reunite online a little over a week after their former bandmate passed away from complications related to Covid-19.
    Jun 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – The remaining members of Dream Street reunited recently to pay tribute to their late bandmate Chris Trousdale with a heartfelt rendition of “It Happens Every Time”.
Jesse McCartney shared the Zoom performance on his social media pages, writing alongside it: “In Loving Memory of our friend Chris Trousdale. 6.11.85-6.2.20.”
As well as the video showing Jesse, Greg Raposo, Matt Ballinger and Frankie Galasso belting out the song, it also featured clips of Chris performing with the band prior to his tragic death from complications related to Covid-19 earlier this month.

Following his death, Chris’ Dream Street bandmates all paid tribute to their pal in heartbreaking posts, with Jesse remembering him as an “explosively charming” man.
“It pains me to say that an old friend, Chris Trousdale, from my early days in the music industry has passed away due to complications from Covid-19,” he wrote. “Chris had an explosively charming personality with boundless amounts of talent.”

Even though the group disbanded in 2002 after just three years together, Jesse added that it “felt like a lifetime” and the bandmates “built a real brotherhood” during their time in the industry.
“In later years, we would grow apart as our lives would take different turns, but I would often reflect on our early days together and think about how exciting it all was,” Jesse added.

Meanwhile, Frankie concluded the tribute posts, writing on his Instagram: “His passing weighs heavy on my heart, but I will always have the memories, of those years with him, to look back on fondly. I can’t begin to imagine the heartbreak his family is going through today, and I send my deepest condolences. You were taken too soon, but I know you are in a better place. Rest in peace brother.”

  • 6ix9ine Accused of Fraud and Defamation by Promoters Over Canceled 2018 Concert

    Instagram

Benhur Tesfalidet and Anton Alexander, who took issue with the ‘TROLLZ’ rapper for bailing out on a Washington D.C. gig, plans to re-file a $5.3 million lawsuit against him before the end of June.
    Jun 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tekashi 6ix9ine is facing a $5.3 million (£4.2 million) lawsuit from two promoters who allege he bailed on a concert and then defamed them.
Promoters Benhur Tesfalidet and Anton Alexander, are accusing 6ix9ine of fraud, breach of contract and defamation, claiming that in 2018, the “Gummo” rapper cancelled a concert in Washington D.C. without notice before playing a gig at another venue on the same night.
They claim he pocketed $58,470 (£46, 500) in advance fees and then defamed them on social media by accusing them of failing to pay him and calling them “corrupt” and “scamming”.
According to editors at Complex, who have obtained a copy of the lawsuit, a version of the complaint was originally filed in Washington D.C. District Court in late 2018, but was withdrawn six months later at the request of the plaintiffs.
Sources tell Complex, that a completed new complaint will be re-filed before the end of June and state that in the new version of the lawsuit, 6ix9ine will be charged with breach of contract, fraud, and defamation.
Also named in the suit as defendants are his former manager Kifano ‘Shotti’ Jordan, the firm MTA Booking, another booker, Will Cornish, and the hip-hop star’s original manager Christian Ehigiator. iHeartMedia, a defendant in the original suit, is no longer named.
On the date of the abandoned concert at D.C. club Echostage, 6ix9ine appeared at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse concert in New Jersey. The promoters allege he did not give any notice and failed to appear.
After the dispute in 2018 the musician, real name Daniel Hernandez, was arrested on gang-related charges and was sentenced to two years in prison. He was granted early release in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will serve the rest of his term under house arrest.

  • Gucci Mane Accuses Atlantic Records of 'Polite' Racism as He Leaves the Label

    WENN

The ‘Trap House’ rapper announces his departure from Atlantic Records and calls the label bosses a group of ‘polite’ racists in a scathing post on social media.
    Jun 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Gucci Mane has accused his Atlantic Records chiefs of “polite” racism and announced he is leaving the label.
The star sent out the tweet claiming he is off Atlantic’s roster as of next month, July 2020 on Thursday, June 11, 2020 before deleting it – but continued retweeting fans and journalists who quoted the original post.
His original tweet read, “Leaving #AtlanticRecords July 3rd these crackers polite racist #SoIcySummer,” and also featured a black-coloured heart emoji, a pair of black praying hands and an emoji of a blue face frosted over with icicles.
In another strange tweet, which remained on his profile, he seemingly made a similar accusation about his namesake luxury brand Gucci, calling them the “the most polite racist ever” and adding, “I pray y’all die of corona virus (sic).”
The rapper, real name Radric Delantic Davis, also deleted another tweet, calling for artists to go on strike to protest “racist” record labels as part of the Black Lives Matter movement.
In the tweet, he added, “All artists let’s go on strike f*ck these racist a*s labels burn them down too #BlackLivesMatter #BlackExecMatter f**k these crackers????”
The “I Get the Bag” hitmaker has had a long but fraught relationship with Atlantic, as in 2013, he used Twitter to slam label representatives and his manager and was dropped from their roster. He subsequently apologised for the tweets, claiming to have been on codeine at the time and rejoined Atlantic again in 2016.
Last year 2019, Atlantic Records’ U.K. president Ben Cook stepped down after it was rumoured he attended a party in blackface while dressed as a member of Run DMC.
Gucci’s representatives at Atlantic did not respond to a request for comment.

    Jun 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Nicki Minaj hopped on an Instagram Live with her “Trollz” collaborator 6ix9ine (Tekashi69) on Thursday, June 11, not long after they released their new song. While some fans were excited for the new song, some others blasted Nicki for working with Tekashi following his snitching scandal.
During the livestream session, the Trinidadian star revealed no once, including fellow rappers, didn’t have the right to call out her collaborator. “Street n****s have every right to feel how they wanna feel about snitchin’ because they live that life,” Nicki Minaj said. “I feel rappers need to play it easy because everybody mingles and integrates with everybody and if a top executive rat called one of you unsigned rappers right now to sign y’all, y’all signing.”
“We not gon’-if a rat executive call y’all to sign, y’all signing. So, let’s be clear when we talk about rappers versus street n****s. It’s rappers that put guns they ain’t never bust a day in they life in the music all the motherf***ing time so we’re not talking about rappers,” the “Anaconda” hitmaker added. “I feel street n****s have a right to feel how they wanna motherf***in’ feel because they in the field and you know, I’m not on the block with 6ix9ine.”
Of her husband’s reaction to her collaboration with the “FEFE” rapper, Nicki explained, “My husband doesn’t f**k with the snitch culture. My husband is just like, ‘You know, I can’t f**k with that.’ And I respect him because he’s lived a different life. Y’all wanna make it rap one minute and streets the next minute.” She added, “Y’all wanna talk about people not writing they raps one minute, and then do songs with people that don’t write raps the next minute. But if somebody talk about the integrity of hip hop it’s a problem, but y’all can talk about the integrity of these streets and not snitching. We not on the block. None of you n****s is on the block!”

During the Live session, Tekashi also shaded Nicki’s ex Meek Mill for calling him a “rat” for snitching on his former gang member Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. “Meek Mill, you can’t pick and choose who you want to call rats… Ever since Nicki left you, you are a nobody… Listen, Nicki took you on tour… You were her opener,” 6ix9ine ranted. “”Nicki made you, you n***a. No b***h wanted to f**k you, n***a. Did you forget who you was?”

“Listen. I forgot what Drake said. What did Drake say? Some s**t like that, is that your tour or your girl’s tour. That was never your tour, homie. Listen, you was put on by Nicki Minaj. And you rollin’ with rats now but you know what? Nobody knows. Nobody knows. Nobody is gonna be like… You’re with a rat every day. You’re with a rat. Your prison reform. Your bail reform is with a rat. ‘Oh no, she wasn’t street.’ She was sellin’ kilos of cocaine. You don’t want nobody to know?”
