    The Monster Always Wins”

Cal & Alf. Callum & Alison. They were supposed to be part of each other’s lives forever, if only the universe had let things happen the way they should.

But whoever they were before, they’re different people now, and the problem with living here is that is always pulls you back again, no matter how hard you try to get away.

And the universe that sent them spinning into free-fall throws them together again when the girl who ran away comes back to find out what happened to the boy who didn’t want to leave.

And the question that the universe needs to answer most of all now is – Whatever happens to those bits of us we leave behind and thought we’d lost forever?  More

She has also directed A Rat A Rat, playing at the theatre until 28 August.

You can also read an interview we did with Georgia in 2020 just before the venue opened here.

    Part 1: About A Rat A Rat

    Part 2: Directing A Rat A Rat

Part 3: Golden Goose Theatre – opening a theatre during lockdown

Part 6: What else is happening in 2021

Part 7: Back to A Rat, A Rat

    A Rat, A Rat

Shortlisted for the inaugural Women’s Prize for Playwriting from Ellie Keel and Paines Plough, this play will feature an all female cast and team.

Charlie has just turned 18. Whilst most would be out enjoying their newly-found adult liberties, Charlie is stuck in a white room with a bed without sheets, a window that doesn’t open, and a rat. She has to adapt fast to this new, sterile world of the adult psychiatric unit if she is to convince anyone that she is well enough to go home to her waiting mum, Vicky. Under the care her over-worked and under-trained key worker Jenny, she learns quickly that she is pretty much on her own. Until Kim turns up.

This electric new play shines a piercing light into the gaping structural holes of our mental health system, questioning how we as individuals care for one another when our institutions fail us.

A Rat, A Rat plays at The Golden Goose Theatre until 28 August. Further information and bookings can be found here. More

Interview: Shining a light on A Thousand Sons

Runn Radio Interview with Jamie Sefton

This four part interview was recorded and broadcast for Runn Radio on 11 August 2021.

The BNTVA charity helped in the research for this play. You can read more about the charity’s work here

    A Thousand Sons

Bertie has witnessed the power of Nuclear weapons. He has seen the horrors first hand, and felt the fallout on a very personal level.

A THOUSAND SONS is a one-person show about Bertie; a British veteran who witnessed four nuclear test detonations in the 1950’s.

We follow him through his life: from witnessing the detonation of the first bomb, to the subsequent effects it had on him and his family in later life, and finally to present day as he struggles for justice and recognition from those in power.

Bertie is a fictional character, however all events are based on the true testimonies of British service personnel, explored through action, poetry and verbatim testimony.

A Thousand Sons uses a pivotal and terrifying event in history to explore themes of family, trust, betrayal and power. It uses a unique blend of techniques to tell a captivating and deeply emotional story.

A Thousand Sons plays as part of Camden Fringe 2021 at Etcetera Theatre on 18 August (9.30pm) and 25 – 27 August (11.30am). More information and booking at the below link. More
