The daytime talk show host is following ‘all proper guidelines’ after she has tested positive for coronavirus and she promises to be back after the holidays.

    Dec 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Comedienne and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has tested positive for COVID-19.
Production on her U.S. daytime series, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, has been shut down until January (21) as the star enters quarantine.
Breaking the news to fans via Twitter on Thursday (10Dec20), she wrote, “Hello everyone. I want to let you all know I tested positive for Covid-19.”
“Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now. Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper guidelines. I’ll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe. Love, Ellen.”
The news comes after a rough few months for Ellen, who is attempting to bounce back from a potentially career-destroying summer expose about “toxic” working conditions on her talk show.
She is the latest celebrity to contract the COVID – Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, Dwayne Johnson, and Bryan Cranston are among the stars who have battled the virus.

Just recently, Jeremih was hospitalized for the deadly virus as well. He spent weeks fighting for his life before being released from the hospital at the weekend (05Dec20).
On Wednesday, he took to Instagram with a note to his supporters. “THANK GOD IM STILL HERE, THANK YA’LL FOR THE (prayer) UP #imbackkkk,” he captioned an image of himself getting a haircut.
Jeremih also stated, “First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life. I will be forever grateful. I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.”

“A special thanks to Chance the Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for their love and support. I would like to thank all my fans and people around the world who prayed for me. I’m getting stronger everyday, and look forward to spending time with my sons.”

  • Ellen DeGeneres' Staff Not Impressed by Her Apology in Season Premiere

    WENN

A current employee of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ describes the host’s monologue on the first episode of season 18 as a scheme to ‘get viewers back’ because it’s premiere week.
    Sep 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres’ apology to her current and former talk show employees fell flat on Monday (21Sep20) – they’ve accused her of using their issues to pump up ratings.
The TV personality returned to her studio to kick off the 18th season of her show and immediately addressed complaints from staffers about the toxicity behind the scenes on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
Many employees claimed DeGeneres had turned her back on misconduct in the workplace, prompting the “Finding Dory” star to apologise to staff earlier this summer.
Following an investigation, three producers were fired and Ellen insisted she’d be making some changes to improve conditions and the workplace culture, but she waited for the 18th season premiere to address the public about the attack on her reputation as the “be kind lady” – and current and past employees were not happy with the way she started the show.

“Not only did Ellen turn my trauma, turn our traumas, into a joke, she somehow managed to make this about her,” one former employee told Buzzfeed News. “When she said, ‘Oh, my summer was great’ and that was supposed to be funny I thought, ‘It’s funny that you had a rough summer because everyone was calling out all of the allegations of your toxic work environment and now you’re the one suffering?’ ”
A current employee questioned the timing of the apology, “It’s always tactical. The average person will listen to it and make their own choices, but what people don’t always take into account is that information is power, and she’s sharing it now because it’s for premiere week and it’s to get viewers back, and that just feels the opposite of what this message is about.”
Another former staffer added, “When you’re talking about people who have accused her leadership of the seriousness of sexual misconduct, I don’t think it’s appropriate to have jokes in the monologue.”
During her opening monologue, Ellen said, “As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realise that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show…”
“Being known as the ‘be kind’ lady is a tricky position to be in. So let me give you some advice out there if anybody’s thinking of changing their title or giving yourself a nickname, do not go with the ‘be kind’ lady. Don’t do it. The truth is I am that person that you see on TV.”

  • Ellen Discusses 'Toxic' Workplace Allegations and Her Image as 'Be Kind' Lady During TV Return

The ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ host says in a monologue during her TV return, ‘If anybody’s thinking of changing their title or giving yourself a nickname, do not go with the ‘be kind’ lady.’
    Sep 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres addressed the workplace misconduct allegations against her and her team in a monologue that opened season 18 of her U.S. TV chat show.
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” host has been at the centre of a scandal after BuzzFeed News published a report in July (20) which detailed staffers negative experiences on the “Ellen” set, including claims of being penalised for taking medical leave, instances of racial microaggressions and fear of retribution for raising complaints.
After previously revealing she would “talk about it” on her show, Ellen addressed the claims she presided over a “toxic” workplace culture in the premiere episode of the latest series on Monday (21Sep20).
“As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should have happened,” she opened the show by saying.
“I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realized that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”

The comedian turned chat icon went on to say that the latest season represents the start of a “new chapter” for everyone working on the show, following an investigation that resulted in the dismissal of two executive producers.
Ellen also addressed allegations that behind the scenes she fails to live up to her “be kind” catchphrase – which she adopted while pleading with viewers to treat each other following the suicide of a bullied gay teen.
“I thought the world needed more kindness and it was a reminder that we all needed that, and I think we need it more than ever right now,” she explained. “Being known as the ‘be kind’ lady is a tricky position to be in.”
“So let me give you some advice out there if anybody’s thinking of changing their title or giving yourself a nickname, do not go with the ‘be kind’ lady. Don’t do it. The truth is I am that person that you see on TV.”

No audience was in attendance due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but according to People magazine, Ellen’s wife Portia de Rossi was on hand to support her on set and her crew applauded at the end of the speech.

The TV host reportedly ‘didn’t hold anything back’ in her monologue in the premiere episode of her show, which is slated to return on Monday following toxic workplace allegations.
    Sep 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres reportedly will be completely honest about toxic workplace allegations when she kicks off upcoming season 18 of her talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. According to a new report, the TV host “didn’t hold anything back” in her monologue in the premiere on Monday, September 21.
“It was poignant and funny and very much a candid take on what happened over the summer,” said a source to PEOPLE of Ellen’s monologue. “She understands her audience wants to hear from her and is looking forward to talking directly to them on Monday.”
“Ellen has come away from this reinvigorated and devoted to working hand-in-hand with the staff to bring joy and humor to the fans,” the source continued. “Ellen is excited to be back on set and wants this to be the best season yet.”

It was also said that Ellen was “connecting with the staff over Zoom.” The insider went on to claim that the host “knows that it’s on her to make sure everyone feels like they’re being heard and valued.”
Her wife Portia de Rossi was also there to offer Ellen an emotional support during the filming of the premiere episode. Noting that it was “an emotional moment for everyone,” the informant added the crew applauded when the host walked off the set as “she thanked everyone.”
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was initially slated to return on September 9, but it was delayed following mounting allegations about toxic workplace leveled against the show. That prompted Warner Bros. to launch an internal investigation in July.
It concluded in August with Ellen sharing the results to her 270 employees in an emotional video conference during which she apologized. At the time, Ellen also revealed that three top producers, Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman, departed the show.

Ellen is expected to talk about allegations of harassment and misconduct behind the scenes on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ when the program returns later this month.
    Sep 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres will return to her studio home and address her namesake show’s summer drama on 21 September (20).
The comedian issued an apology to staff on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” after former and current employees went public with claims of harassment and misconduct behind the scenes.
Some whistleblowers told BuzzFeed there was a “toxic culture” on the show and they accused Ellen of turning a blind eye to alleged abuses.
The expose prompted a major WarnerMedia investigation, following which three senior producers were fired.
Now, DeGeneres has confirmed she’ll be back in the studio for Season 18 of the show next month, and she will address the claims against herself and the producers during the first episode.
“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it,” DeGeneres says.
She and her crew left the studio in March (20) as the coronavirus crisis began. She subsequently hosted a series of shows virtually from her home.
The season premiere will feature an in-studio interview with Tiffany Haddish, who last week revealed she had tested positive for COVID-19.
Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen are also lined up to appear on shows during Ellen’s first week back.

The ‘We Belong Together’ star recalls her ‘uncomfortable’ visit to ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ where the host forced the singer to confirm her pregnancy.
    Sep 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mariah Carey has added to the drama surrounding TV’s Ms. Nice, Ellen DeGeneres, by revealing the talk show host tried to drag a pregnancy confirmation out of her after she’d suffered a miscarriage.
The “Finding Dory” star’s kind and sweet reputation has taken a hit over the summer after current and former staffers accused Ellen of turning a blind eye to bad behaviour and harassment on the set of her hit daytime show. The allegations prompted the TV personality to issue a public apology and promise employees the toxic culture behind the scenes would end.
Three producers were also let go.
Many celebrities like Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry stood by Ellen, insisting they never experienced any bad vibes on the set when they were guests, but some have been less generous, and now Carey is speaking out about an uncomfortable appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2008, when the host tempted her guest with champagne to see if she was pregnant.
“I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say…,” Mariah told Vulture. “I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage. I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment.”
“There’s an empathy that can be applied to those moments that I would have liked to have been implemented.”
