  • 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' Put Under Investigation Following Complaints About Toxic Environment

    NBC

Past and present staff members have came forward with claims that host Ellen DeGeneres is not the friendly person she appears to be and does not live up to her ‘be kind to each other’ mantra.
    Jul 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Beloved talk show star Ellen DeGeneres’ workplace is reportedly under investigation following a series of complaints from staff members past and present about their treatment behind the scenes.
WarnerMedia bosses have ordered the inquiry to check on claims made by almost a dozen “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” employees.
The reports suggest DeGeneres is not the friendly person she appears to be and does not live up to her “be kind to each other” mantra.
A recent BuzzFeed expose suggested the working environment on the show is toxic.
Variety sources claim TV executives have sent memos to all the staff of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to let them know that the investigation has been launched, adding a third party will conduct interviews with “current and former staffers about their experiences on set.”
The show’s producers previously released a joint statement to BuzzFeed following the publication of the complaints – all from anonymous sources. It read, “Over the course of nearly two decades, 3,000 episodes, and employing over 1,000 staff members, we have strived to create an open, safe, and inclusive work environment. We are truly heartbroken and sorry to learn that even one person in our production family has had a negative experience.”
“It’s not who we are and not who we strive to be, and not the mission Ellen has set for us. For the record, the day to day responsibility of the Ellen show is completely on us. We take all of this very seriously and we realize, as many in the world are learning, that we need to do better, are committed to do better, and we will do better.”

“I intend to use the next two years of my show as a platform for change, to amplify voices of black people and people of colour and to educate my audience,” she vowed. “I am always grateful to be able to do what I do but more than ever I just feel like this is a responsibility to effect change.”

Ellen DeGeneres Returns to TV Show From Living Room to Support Staff Amid Coronavirus Crisis

    Instagram

In the first show aired since COVID-19 shut down ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ production, the ‘Finding Dory’ star also salutes emergency workers putting their health at risk during the pandemic.
    Apr 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres returned to TV on Monday, April 06 in a bid to keep her staff employed during the coronavirus lockdown.
The “Finding Dory” star hosted the long-running “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” from her living room, joking that all the other areas of her home were “filled with toilet paper”.
She started the show with a few words of comfort and a special message to her TV team.
“I wanted to start doing my new show as soon as possible, because it’s really for people who are stuck at home, especially my staff and crew,” the 62-year-old star said. “I love them, I miss them, and the best thing I can do to support them is keep the show on the air.”
“I’ve always wanted to have this show as a distraction, as a break from whatever’s going on out there that may be unpleasant. So, if you’re feeling down, I want to lift you up. If you’re feeling trapped, I want to set you free. If you feel like you’re going in the wrong direction, I want you to back that thing up. I want to spread light where there’s shade. I want to bring a glow where it’s gloomy. I want to stick a candle where the sun doesn’t shine.”
She also took time to salute emergency workers, who are putting their health at risk during the pandemic by serving the public.

Sharing the news on Twitter, the 62-year-old comedian wrote: “Hey there. Me again. So, after some more thought, we have decided to suspend production completely until March 30th.”
“We just want to take every precaution to ensure that we do our part to keep everyone healthy,” she added. “I love you guys, and can’t wait to come back. I’m already bored.”
Numerous TV talk shows have either been shut down or will record without a live studio audience due to the outbreak, which has seen more than 145,000 cases of the illness registered, resulting in more than 5,400 deaths since it began in December.
It was also announced on Friday that Sharon Osbourne’s panel show “The Talk” would stop filming, with a statement on Twitter reading: “In light of the current events, @TheTalkCBS has decided to suspend production for now. We hope to be back LIVE soon.”
“In the meantime, enjoy some of our favorite episodes starting Mon., 3/16. We can still laugh and share moments. We’re in this together.”

    P. Diddy Surprises His Young Cancer-Stricken Fans

    NBC

The Bad Boy founder drops by ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ to surprise a group of inspiring young cancer patients who make a viral video using his song ‘Bad Boys for Life’.
    Feb 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has thrilled a group of cancer-stricken children by paying them a surprise visit with the help of pal Ellen DeGeneres.
The kids had previously attempted to catch the rap mogul’s attention in December 2019, when they featured in a viral video showing off their moves to his 2001 hit “Bad Boys for Life”, and inviting Diddy to join them for a dance.
The clip was filmed for a campaign by officials at Miami, Florida-based nonprofit Fighting All Monsters (FAM), which supports families of young cancer sufferers, and on Thursday, February 20, 2020, eight members of the group appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to discuss the post.
Explaining why they chose the tune for the promo, one of the kids, Will Walker, said, “In the song, it’s ‘survive what you been through,’ and we’re all battling cancer and we ain’t going anywhere (sic)!”
The talk show host initially claimed Diddy was unable to join them on TV as he was currently on the road, and had instead sent in a video message just for them, which she aired for her guests.
However, DeGeneres later confessed she had got the dates wrong, and Diddy was actually backstage, prompting the children to scream in excitement as the hip-hop star made his big entrance and encouraged the kids to dance with him.

After DeGeneres thanked Diddy for taking part in the surprise, he said, “It’s a pleasure.”
He then turned his attention to his young fans and shared, “Thank you guys so much for reaching out to me.”
“I was so touched that this song that has helped me get through a lot of trials and tribulations is fuelling you guys to know the power that you have in yourself to believe that we ain’t going nowhere (sic),” he added, quoting lyrics from his own song.
Diddy has since posted a photo of himself with the kids on social media, captioning it, “Let’s dance!!!!!!!!!”
