    'The Masked Singer' Recap: The Kangaroo Has Surprising Tie to KarJenner Family

    Night Angel and Kangaroo hit the stage for the first face-off before the loser of each face-off heads for a Smackdown at the end of the episode of the FOX singing competition show.

    AceShowbiz – Four remaining contestants of “The Masked Singer” returned in the Wednesday, April 8 episode for head-to-head performances. The Night Angel and Kangaroo hit the stage for the first face-off.
    The Night Angel performed Shania Twain’s “Man, I Feel Like a Woman”, while the Kangaroo opted to sing “No Air” by Jordin Sparks. The panelist, who was joined by Yvette Nicole Brown that night, guessed that the Night Angel could be Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer or Vanessa Williams. As for the Kangaroo, the guesses included La La Anthony, Keira Knightley and Blac Chyna. The winner of the face-off was Night Angel!
    The next face-off was between the Astronaut and the Turtle. The Astronaut hit the stage to belt out Shawn Mendes’s “If I Can’t Have You”. The Turtle followed it up with a performance of James Bay’s “Let It Go”.
    The panelist thought the Astronaut was either Ben Platt, Seth Green or Austin Mahone. As for the Turtle, the panelist guessed Adam Lambert, Joey McIntyre and Niall Horan. Turtle came out as the winner of the face-off.
    Later, the Kangaroo and the Astronaut headed to the Smackdown. The Kangaroo sang Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” with the Astronaut performing “Bye, Bye, Bye” by NSYNC. Eventually, the Kangaroo was announced to be the singer who was eliminated. Removing her mask, the Kangaroo was revealed to be none other than Jordyn Woods!

    In an interview following the revelation, the former BFF of Kylie Jenner shared that she’d love to pursue a music career. “Definitely, this is the star of a lot. I think that now I don’t have a choice. The people want the album,” the model said.
    The “Life of Kylie” alum continued, “I was probably the person who sung the most ballads, but that works for the story and that works for me. But one of my favorite performances was the Amy Winehouse song,” referring to her performance of “You Know I’m No Good” in the previous episode.
    Talking about appearing on “The Masked Singer”, Jordyn said, “[It’s] an opportunity of a lifetime that I could not pass up. It was like living out one of my childhood fantasies. You always envision yourself performing on stage and for crowds, but you don’t think it can be a reality. This really set my childhood dreams to a reality. Although I could have never envisioned it being in a kangaroo costume.”

    AceShowbiz – Bosses at “The Masked Singer U.S.” have donated 10,000 surgical masks to hospitals in New York amid the coronavirus pandemic.
    Executives at the FOX TV show, which sees celebrities don elaborate disguises in a bid conceal their identity from audiences and a panel of judges as they belt out popular tunes, have announced the pledge, with judge Ken Jeong confirming the news on Twitter.
    In a video shared on the show’s official account on Wednesday, April 2020, he said, “Hi, this is Ken Jeong. Fox and The Masked Singer have purchased 10,000 FDA-approved N95 surgical masks.”
    “They arrived in New York yesterday and will be delivered to hospitals in dire need of equipment,” he continued. “On behalf of everybody on The Masked Singer, we are sending all of our love, thoughts and best wishes to all affected by coronavirus aka Covid-19. Stay safe and healthy and love you.”
    According to Fox News, financing for the masks came from a fund for an Emmy Award season event this spring, which will no longer be taking place due to the global health crisis.
    “The Masked Singer U.S.”, also starring Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke as judges, airs Wednesdays on Fox.

    The Super 9, consisting of singers from group A, B and C, hit the stage with Turtle opening the night with a stunning performance of Steve Winwood’s ‘Higher Love’.

    AceShowbiz – The Wednesday, April 1 episode of “The Masked Singer” saw the Super 9, consisting of singers from group A, B and C, hitting the stage. Group A was made of Kangaroo, White Tiger and Turtle. Group B had Kitty, Frog and Banana, while Group C included Night Angel, Astronaut and Rhino.
    Turtle performed first, singing Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love”. The panelists, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy, guessed that he was either Drew Lachey, Brian Litrell, Nick Lachey or Chris Evans. Following it up was Kangaroo, who performed Dixie Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice”. The guesses included Amber Rose, Leann Rimes and India.Arie.
    White Tiger concluded the performance from Group A. He sang “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred, prompting the panelist to think he was either J.J. Watt, Rob Gronkowski or Joe Manganiello.
    Kitty opened the performances of Group B. She belted out Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” and the panelists’ guesses included Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Roberts and Avril Lavigne. Next up was Banana, who sang Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”. Among the guesses were Bret Michaels, Brad Paisley and Billy Ray Cyrus.
    Frog, meanwhile, wowed with a performance of “Jump” by Kriss Kross. The guesses were Sisqo, Omarion and Romeo Miller.
    In Group C, Night Angel took the stage to sing Andra Day’s “Rise Up”. The panelist thought she could be Tamar Braxton, Brandy or Tisha Campbell. Later, Rhino performed “What a Man Gotta Do” by the Jonas Brothers. The panelist threw out the names Vince Gill, Derek Jeter and Duff McKagan.
    For the final performance of the night, the Astronaut sang Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”. The guesses for him included David Archuleta, JC Chasez and Ryan Tedder.
    Rhino, White Tiger and Banana were later announced to be the three masked singers whose fate was in jeopardy. However, it was White Tiger who was eventually sent home. Prior to that, he revealed his identity and he was actually Rob Gronkowski!

Revealing that he was a “bright star” when he was younger, he sang Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”. Among the guesses thrown by the panelists included Donald Glover, Corey Feldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
    Following it up was the Night Angel. As her clues, she told the panelists, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke, that she first debuted in a group before going her own way. She belted out Lady GaGa’s “Million Reasons”, prompting the panelists to guess she was either Regina King, Jessica Simpson or Taraji P. Henson.

    T-Rex then hit the stage to perform “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice. The panelists named Lilly Singh and Liza Koshy as their guesses. In her clues, she said that “against all odds, I’ve spread my wings for millions to see.” The panelists thought she could be Mila Kunis, Kristen Stewart and Kristen Bell.

    Concluding the night was the Rhino, who said he’s “always been a risk-taker” and had “many ups and downs.” Among the guesses were Tim Tebow, Chris Pratt and Ryan Lochte.

    Eventually, it was announced that the Swan was forced to go home. Before she unmasked herself, the panelists made their final guesses that included Nina Dobrev, Olivia Munn and Kristen Stewart. None of them was correct because the Swan was revealed as Bella Thorne!

    Concluding the night was the Swan, who took the stage to perform “Fever” by Peggy Lee. Her clue package saw her doing ballet with vampire fangs appearing. Nina Dobrev, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar were among celebrity names thrown out by the panelists.

She explained that was because the “first time we met was lit.” The judges guessed that Kitty might be Christina Ricci, Kristen Bell and Haylie Duff.

    The next performer was the Taco, who liked to help “people when they get down.” He offered a performance of “Can’t Help Myself” by The Four Tops. His friendship bracelet was for Nicole Scherzinger and it said “kiss.” The guesses included Barry Manilow, Howie Mandel and Jerry Springer.
    Meanwhile, the Banana redeemed himself with performance of Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me” after forgetting the lyrics during his performance last week. He gave his friendship bracelet, which read “nineties,” to Jenny McCarthy, explaining that they got the chance to hang as friends back then. Among those whose names were thrown in the mix for guesses were Michael Andretti, Brad Paisley and Johnny Knoxville.

    Concluding the episode was the Frog, who hit the stage to perform The Gap Band’s “You Dropped a Bomb on Me”. He gave his friendship bracelet, which said “all we do is win,” for “friend” T-Pain. T-Pain guessed the Frog was Ludacris, while other panelists thought he could be either Tommy Davidson or Omarion.

    Eventually, it was revealed that Kitty, Banana and the Frog were all heading to the Super 9. That meant the singer who was sent home that night was the Taco. For the final guesses, Nicole and Jenny still believed that the Taco was Barry Manilow and Jerry Springer, respectively. Meanwhile, Ken Jeong and Robin guessed Martin Short with T-Pain naming Kelsey Grammer.

    Kicking off the night was the Banana, who sang Billy Ray Cyrus classic “Achy Breaky Heart”. He gave the panelists, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy, clues by saying that his favorite subject in school was art. That prompted the panelists to think that the Banana might be Larry the Cable Guy, Ed Helms or Billy Bob Thornton.

    The next performer was the Mouse. She, who said that ‘stage is like my second home,’ performed “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole. The guesses included Tina Turner and Ellis Ross with Robin being convinced that the Mouse was Dionne Warwick because of the gold clues in the clue packages.

    The Frog then hit the stage to perform a rather weird arrangement of 50 Cent’s “In Da Club”. His clue package included more Prince references, a basketball and toy soldiers. The panel guessed that Frog could be Alfonso Ribeiro, Kevin Hart or Omarion. Later, the Taco offered a performance of “Bossa Nova Baby” by Elvis Presley. The guesses for the Taco included Harry Connick Jr., Seth MacFarlane, Ted Danson or Alec Baldwin.

    The Kitty, meanwhile, blew everyone’s mind with a performance of Brett Young’s “Mercy”. Her voice, which was strong yet tender at the same time, successfully captivated people’s hearts. As for the guesses, the panelists threw out names like Millie Bobby Brown, Amanda Seyfried or Sarah Hyland.

    It was later revealed that the Mouse received the lowest voting and had to be unmasked. For the final guess, Robin, Nicole and Jenny all agreed that she might be Dionne while Ken guessed Tina Turner. It was then revealed that the Mouse was indeed Dionne Warwick!

    He took the stage to sing MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This”. Jenny McCarthy guessed Olympian Michael Johnson while Ken Jeong believed he was Carl Lewis. Nicole Scherzinger, however, thought the Frog could be Ray J.

    The next performer was the Elephant, who sang a rendition of The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love”. As for the guesses, Jenny named professional cyclist Lance Armstrong, while Nicole guessed Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker or musician Tommy Lee. Ken Jeong believed he was former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke.

    Kitty was up next, performing “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande. Paris Hilton and Julianne Hough’s names were thrown into the mix of guesses while Ken thought she was Nicole Richie. Later, Taco sang Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon”. Nicole said he might be Regin Philbin while Ken brought up Martin Short. Robin Thicke, on the other hand, guessed Bob Saget.

    Mouse followed it up with a performance of “Get Here” by Oleta Adams. Her performance prompted Nicole to think she was Darlene Love, though Robin said she reminded him of Dionne Warwick. Ken, meanwhile, guessed Maya Rudolph. Concluding the night was a performance of Elvis Presley’s “A Little Less Conversation” by the Banana. Among the names that the judges threw for the guesses were Bill Engvall, Ed Helms and Darius Rucker.

    At the end of the night, it was revealed that the Elephant earned the least voting and had to unmask himself. Prior to the revelation, the judges made their final guesses that included DJ Steve Aoki and Travis Pastrana. No one on the panel guessed correctly because the Elephan was revealed to be skateboarder Tony Hawk.

    “I appreciated your support, and this is a totally new experience for me,” Hawk said, expressing his gratitude. “I had one more song in me, but I didn’t want to go much further.”
