Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan made their grand return to the This Morning sofa – 20 years since they fronted the ITV show.
The married couple, who presented the programme from 1988 until 2001, stood in for Eammon Holmes and Ruth Langsford on Friday’s episode.
Their hosting soon caused a meltdown on the internet, with many citing their appearance on the show was like “a breath of fresh air” – but not everyone agreed.
Viewers soon shared their thoughts on the duo’s TV appearance and some begged for regular presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to return.
Positive comments soon hit the social media platform, with one user writing: “So lovely to see Richard and Judy back where they belong. it’s like they’ve never been away.”
“Might start a petition… Richard and Judy to replace Ruth and Eamon on Fridays,” another added.
While a third chimed in: “Great to see Richard and Judy back presenting This Morning. They are real naturals, well done.”
But it wasn’t all compliments as the pair faced backlash for their

The couple were elated to be back in the driving seat as they opened the show.
“It feels like we’ve been defrosted,” Richard remarked.
