Carol Vorderman has celebrated 40 years on TV after first appearing on Countdown on this day in 1982.
The presenter, 61, took to Instagram on Wednesday (November 2) and shared a video as she wished herself and the hit Channel 4 show a happy birthday.
Wearing a blue ribbed dress that cinched in at her tiny waist, the maths whizz looked nothing short of sensational as she spoke to her millions of followers and gushed over hitting the huge career milestone.

The Pride of Britain Awards host accessorized her figure-hugging ensemble with a pair of dangly gold earrings and a few gold bangles on her wrist, styling her blonde tresses in loose curls.
Standing against a white wall, the star sang: “Happy birthday to me!,” before returning to her regular voice and saying: “40 years on the television, who would have thought it?”
The TV personality added: “My first appearance was on Countdown doing the numbers. Countdown was the first show on Channel 4 on November 2nd 1982.
“So Happy birthday Channel 4 and course happy birthday Countdown too, all of us 40 years old today!”
The I’m a Celeb star appeared on Countdown for more than two decades, departing in 2008 after 26 years on the show.
Alongside the video, she penned: “40 years ago today, Countdown was first shown on this brand new channel… @channel4.
“So HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHANNEL 4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF US…. Going to celebrate nicely,” adding a trio of red heart emojis.
Carol’s followers couldn’t wait to congratulate her on hitting the milestone, with many commenting on the star’s ageless appearance after four decades on screen.
“Happy TVday!! You don’t look old enough,” gushed one as a second added: “Happy TV birthday – you’ve not changed a bit!”
“How is it possible that you look more beautiful now. Than you did then,” penned a third while someone else echoed: “And you get sexier and sexier.”
