Shawn Mendes sends fans wild as he strips off to boxers for racy Christmas dip

Shawn Mendes had a daring way of getting into the Christmas spirit – and it involved him ditching his clothes.

The 24-year-old pop star decided to strip off to his boxers and go for a dip in an icy stream, dubbing it a ‘polar bear plunge’.

The singer allowed his wild side to take over as he braved the winter cold and climbed into the stream in nothing but a pair of tiny black underpants.

Shawn showed off his hunky physique as he wade into the rushing water and laid down – later admitting he could not “feel a thing” afterwards.

It appears his pals didn’t expect for Shawn to take the plunge as one lady from behind the camera asked: “What are you doing?”.

Even Shawn needed a minute to prepare himself before the act as he took a deep breath before whipping off his festive jumper and boots.

He crawled into the water and cried: “Wooo, it’s cold!” before allowing the freezing cold water to lap over his body.

He took to Instagram with the caption: “MERRY CHRISTMAS,” alongside some cheeky emojis.

Fans were left swooning in the comments, with one gushing: “Thank you camera lady”

A second said: “I didn’t know I needed Shawn in a sweater, undies and boots but I so did”

A third commented: “so this is why i don’t have a 6’3” canadian man under my tree”

A fourth added: “In my next life I am the stream”

It comes after it was revealed in November that Shawn had split from fellow singer Camila Cabello, with the pair telling fans they were “best friends.”

Earlier this year, Shawn cancelled the rest of his Wonder World tour to focus on his mental health.

A statement at the time read: “As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn’t totally prepared for the toll of being back on the road would take on me.

“I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away.”

He added: “After speaking more with my team and working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time I’ve never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger.”
