Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon 'refuse to sign BGT contracts over salary'

Britain’s Got Talent reportedly bosses have hit a stumbling block because Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon are refusing to sign their contracts over pay.

The duo are expected to take their seats on the judging panel for the next series of the ITV entertainment show alongside Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli, who is reported to be taking over from David Walliams.

However, according to The Sun there has been a delay as the ladies, who have sat on the judging panel for years, don’t think Bruno should be pocketing the same sum as them (thought to be £850,000).

So, even though filming is due to start soon, negotiations are thought to be rumbling on.

The two judges have been on the show for years

A source told the publication: “Amanda and Alesha won’t be signing their contracts until they’ve had their issues over pay addressed.

“After learning that Bruno was to be getting the same pay, they decided to hold off and stand firm. Initially, there was a seven-figure pay deal on the table for Bruno but this was lowered over fears of a backlash — and now them getting the same figure has caused a rift.”

The new series of BGT will be Amanda’s 17th and Alesha’s 11th.

Bruno is said to be the new judge

The insider added that the judges “don’t think it is fair a newcomer could walk into the show and be handed the same deal as them”.

It has also now been widely reported that former Strictly Come Dancing star Bruno is taking his seat on the panel.

This comes after David Walliams left the judging panel after a decade on the show.

Late last year, it was reported that it was “very much up in the air” whether David would be doing the 2023 series.

The Guardian reported the judge made “sexually explicit” and “derogatory” remarks about the show’s contestants, which he has since apologised for.

A source told The Sun that the author decided it’s time to “move on” from the ITV talent show.

The insider told the publication: “David has decided to bow out after a ten-year run. He wants to leave on a high after a wonderful time.”

Daily Star has contacted ITV and representatives for Amanda and Alesha for comment.
