Jennette McCurdy has revealed a disturbing email she received from her late mother who told her she wanted “nothing to do” with her daughter.
The former iCarly star, 30, has opened up about her troubled childhood during an appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s talk show Red Table Talk.
The actress has just released her new book, titled I’m Glad My Mom Died, which details the alleged abuse she suffered from her mum before she died in 2013, following a battle with cancer.

A shocking clip from the interview sees the Nickelodeon star read out a section from her book covering a brutal email she was sent by her mother who had seen a photo of her daughter on TMZ.
The heartbreaking letter brands Jennette a “sl**”, accuses her of lying, and claims the actress has put on weight through “eating” her guilt.
She began: “I am so disappointed in you. You used to be my perfect little angel, but now you are nothing more than a little [all caps] sl**, a floozy, all used up.
“And to think you wasted it on that hideous ogre of a man. I saw the pictures on a website called TMZ. I saw you rubbing his disgusting hairy stomach. I knew you were lying about Colton.”
The star told the table she’d told her mum she was with a friend called Colton at the time.
She went on: “Add that to the list of things you are. Lying, conniving, evil. You look pudgier, too. It’s clear you’re eating your guilt.”
Referencing her boyfriend, the email continued: “Thinking of you with his ding-dong inside of you makes me sick. Sick! I raised you better than this. What happened to my good little girl? Where did she go, and who is this monster that has replaced her? You’re an ugly monster now.”
Her mum, Debbie, went on to say that she, like Jennette’s brothers wanted to disown her, writing: “They all said they disown you just like I do. We want nothing to do with you.”
McCurdy previously told The Hollywood Reporter her three older brothers have been “supportive” and “understanding” of her speaking out against their mother in the book.
Debbie signed off the email with “love, mom” before urging Jennette to buy her a new fridge.
She added: “Or should I say Deb since I am no longer your mother? PS — send money for a new fridge; ours broke.”
Jennette couldn’t help laughing at the fridge request at the end, but Willow Smith and the rest of the table were in shock at what they’d just heard.
Jennette’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when the star was 3 years old.
She went in for chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant before her cancer returned in 2010 and she died in 2013, when McCurdy was 21.
