Ricky Martin files £17million lawsuit against nephew who accused him of sexual abuse

Ricky Martin is suing the nephew who allegedly claimed the singer had sexually abused him.

Ricky filed a lawsuit Wednesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, against nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, who the singer claims is trying to “assassinate” his reputation, reports TMZ.

According to new legal documents, the Latin singer is suing his nephew – who is the son of Martin’s paternal half-sister, Vanessa – for $20million (£17m).

His nephew previously claimed the 50-year-old singer stalked and harassed him after a seven month relationship, but they have now dropped the claims.

A judge has withdrawn the previous restraining order against the Livin’ La Vida Loca star, who appeared virtually at a Puerto Rico court on July 21, but did not address the court.

The singer also claims he’s been “persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted by a maladjusted person [Dennis]” during the ordeal.

The lawsuit accused the legendary singer of incest.

Dennis had claimed back in July that he had a 7-month long romantic relationship with Ricky, and when it ended Ricky began stalking and harassing him.

Martin, who has strongly denied all the accusations, tweeted that the “truth prevails” after the order was archived.

The singer alleges he’s lost multiple multi-million-dollar deals due to the restraining order and false allegations.

His legal team said the accuser was a “troubled individual” who made “false allegations” with no evidence to support them.

They said in a statement: “Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter.

“The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them.”

He has since earned a ton of awards including two Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards.
