Fans of ITV’s For the Love of Dogs have spotted one of presenter Alison Hammond’s “bad habits” after she accidentally shared it in the new show.
The hit show made a return to our screens on Tuesday night (April 23) with new host Hammond at the helm. She took over the role from the late Paul O’Grady, who tragically passed away last year, with the news shared in a shock announcement made by his husband.
After the show made its grand return last week, Alison received a lukewarm reception from viewers, as she once again paid a visit to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. However, the This Morning host was back in the latest instalment of the show as she met more furry friends needing a new home.

Viewers looked on as she met a lurcher who had been found tied up in a cemetery and needed emergency surgery to fix a number of injuries. She also got to meet a French bulldog who was incredibly stressed due to being unable to breathe, as well as a Bichon Frisé with matted hair that was in dire need of grooming.

But away from the cuddly four-legged friends, fans became gradually more annoyed with Alison as she let one of her “bad habits” shine. This came in the form of using the phrase “babs” during the course of the show.
One frustrated fan pleaded: “Cut out the babs Alison, I hate it when anyone says that.” Whilst a second user added: “If she says Babs again, I’m going to swear, I warn you now!”
The Brummie girl is best known for her welcoming spirit and warm touch. Having first shot to fame on Big Brother back in 2002, she was able to land a huge gig on This Morning soon after being evicted and has become a huge fan favourite ever since.

However, her warm persona comes as the latest figures for the show dropped significantly after Alison took the reins of the show. According to figures published by The Sun, the first episode of the new show had an average of 1.8million viewers, reaching a high of 2m at its peak.
This pales in comparison to Paul O’Grady’s stint on the show, when viewing figures were almost double this on a regular basis. However, Alison has dealt with the criticism hurled at her after she was announced as the new host of the show.
Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, she explained: “I was actually surprised with how much I got for doing the show. I could understand in the sense that Paul was so loved, and people were saying: ‘How can she do Love Of Dogs when she doesn’t have a dog?

“‘How does she love dogs when she doesn’t have a dog?’ It’s like saying: ‘How can you love children when you haven’t got kids?’”
She slammed the arguments as “flawed” and urged those who did not want to watch the show to just avoid it. “If you don’t want to help Battersea, don’t watch it,” she added.
