Lorde sparks concern with snaps of black eye as fans ask star ‘are you okay’

Lorde has sparked concern after sharing a string of pictures of herself with a black eye.

The Supercut singer, 27, posted the snaps on Instagram, and also appeared to have removed all the other posts from her profile. Her account now includes just the one post with a carousel of shots that show her with a dark bruise around one eye.

Most of the images were of Lorde’s face, including a close-up, and one showed her at a restaurant. She also shared a photo of a disc reading “ProHealth Advanced Imaging” and a shot of a cap emblazoned with the words: “Do you have the stones?”

The upload has left fans worried, with many posting messages in the comments section asking if she was alright. “Oh no what happened?” asked one person, as another posted: “Are you okay?”

“WHO HURT YOU QUEEN LET ME KNOW,” said another fan, as someone else chimed in: “Who did this, I’ll get them.” Somebody else remarked that it “looks royally painful”. “Girlypop what happenedddddd,” another of Lorde’s followers asked.

“Be careful,” urged another concerned fan. “Feel better soon,” said another.

However, other fans suggested that the mysterious post might have something to do with new music. “Did the album drop on you, queen?” one teased. “THE COMEBACK HELLO???” said someone else.

Another fan said it was an “excellent way to re-enter social media”. They went on: “Lead with the black eye and the enigmatic baseball cap. I like it, Lorde, I like it. Keep these people on their toes.”

Some also spotted that the caption – DYHTS – related to the phrase on the baseball cap (Do you have the stones) as it was just the first letter of every word. “Whatever that means!” one baffled fan wrote on Reddit.

Lorde’s last album was Solar Power, which she unveiled in 2021. It topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand, where she is from, and made it to number two in the UK.
