Pusha T Fears This Would Happen During His 2011 Coachella Performance With Kanye West

    WENN

A decade ago, the ‘Mercy’ rapper took on the stage that resembles the Altar of Zeus at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany when his rapper collaborator headlined the festival.

    Apr 20, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Rapper Pusha T was worried about a massive stone mural crushing him to death as he joined Kanye West onstage for his headlining performance at the 2011 Coachella festival.

Kanye had insisted on having the giant piece of art, resembling the Altar of Zeus at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin, Germany, hang high above the stage as part of his elaborate set design at the California music event, and it was all Pusha could think about as he prepared to perform alongside his pal.

Reflecting on the groundbreaking performance, which was staged a decade ago on Saturday, April 17, Pusha told Complex.com, “Whatever that structure was, it was so massive. I was like, ‘I hope this doesn’t fall on me.’ These were all my thoughts.”

Thankfully, all went smoothly and the 90-minute set was hailed a great success, marking a key turning point in the “Stronger” hitmaker’s career.

“It was my first time seeing a stage performance and [Kanye] putting it on like this,” Pusha recalled. “And I’m like, ‘Wait a minute. This is a huge deal.’ Watching him be obsessed… It was like, it couldn’t go any other way for him.”

Looking back at his performance with Kanye, Pusha stated, “I was watching one of the biggest moments in touring, with the biggest artist in the world, off the best album of the year, doing the purest form of hip-hop. I was like, hip-hop is being appreciated.” He added, “They’re appreciating the purest form of hip-hop at the highest level. It was overwhelming.”

“It was overwhelming to see the youngest genre of music, the music that comes under the most scrutiny, the music that wasn’t supposed to last, if you let my parents tell it… It wasn’t gonna be around for 20 years,” he elaborated. “At that point, for me, it was like, ‘Oh, we are the biggest. And we’re not [just] the biggest, we are the best.’ ”

Kanye West Documentary Series Allegedly Cost Netflix Over $30 Million

    Instagram

A series chronicling the life and career of the ‘Jesus Is King’ rapper is in the works at Netflix and the streaming giant reportedly spent more than $30 million on the project.

    Apr 8, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
A multi-part documentary series about Kanye West’s life and career is reportedly set to land on Netflix this year.

According to Billboard, the streaming giant spent “upwards of $30 million (£22 million)” on the series though this has not been confirmed.

The currently untitled project is being helmed by music video producing pair Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons and Chike Ozah, who were behind the hip-hop superstar and Yeezy founder’s 2004 promos for “Jesus Walks (Version 3)” and “Through the Wire”.

Fans can expect to see never-before-seen footage of the rapper in the doc, which follows his career in music and fashion, his 2020 presidential bid, and will touch on the tragic death of his mother, Donda West.

The series is said to have been in the works for two decades and, while the “Stronger” hitmaker is not working on the production himself, he has given his seal of approval.

Coodie and Chike’s Creative Control have joined forces with TIME Studios on the series, who distributed the 2018 Aretha Franklin concert film “Amazing Grace”.

The documentary news comes amid the 43-year-old star’s divorce from Kim Kardashian West.

In February (21), the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star filed to end her six-year marriage to the “Famous” hitmaker – with whom she has North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and 22-month-old Psalm – citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split.

Kim began dating the “Heartless” rapper in 2012 and the couple had their first child in 2013 before tying the knot in 2014.

    WENN/Avalon/Tony Forte

According to numerous reports, some of Kanye’s discography, ‘College Dropout’, ‘808s and Heartbreak’ and ‘Cruel Summer’, was nowhere to be found on the streaming service.

    Mar 19, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Kanye West sparked chatter on social media, but that’s not only due to reports that he becomes the richest black man in the United States. The “Gold Digger” rapper found his name trending on Twitter on Thursday, March 18 after fans noticed that most of his songs were missing from Apple Music’s streaming service.

According to numerous reports, some of his discography was nowhere to be found on the site. Among those which were mysteriously removed were “College Dropout”, “808s & Heartbreak” and “Cruel Summer”.

“According to Apple Music, Kanye West only has 6 albums. College Dropout, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, and TLOP were just a figment of our imagination,” one person tweeted. However, people who previously downloaded those album can still access them.

Kanye wasn’t the only artist which albums were removed from the streaming service by Apple. Some of Drake’s notable albums were missing. It appeared that the Canadian star’s account has been restored.

“Where are my favorite drake albums on Apple Music? They were there yesterday,” a fan wrote on Twitter. “Why drake removing albums from Apple Music,” someone else added.

That aside, Kanye West was recently named as the richest black man in the U.S. after Bloomberg reported his net worth is $6.6 billion. In the report cited from UBS Group AG, the outlet noted that his Yeezy brand was valued between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion. Additionally, it claimed that Yeezy’s new partnership with Gap, which is set to hit stores in the summer, “could be worth as much as $970 million of that total.”

However, the claims were quickly refuted by Forbes. On Thursday, the leading business magazine reported the 49-year-old MC’s net worth are “based on the magical thinking around sales that don’t yet exist.” The outlet added, “This is why he’s currently worth less than one-third of that.”

    WENN

Billed as a ‘celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ,’ the EP includes five tracks performed by his Sunday Service choir and produced by the Yeezy designer.

    Dec 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West has dropped a special gift to his fans who had been waiting for his new music. On Christmas Day, December 25, the rapper released a surprise album of compositions titled “Emmanuel”.
According to a press release, the EP, which title means “God is with us,” is a “celebration of the birth of Jesus.” The 12-minute album includes five tracks which were “inspired by ancient and Latin music.” The compositions are performed by his Sunday Service choir, and executive produced as well as composed by the “Follow God” hitmaker.

Exactly one year ago, Kanye surprise released “Jesus Is Born”, which features 19 songs also performed by the Sunday Service choir. It followed up “Jesus Is King”, which arrived two months before in October 2019. Marking his first gospel album, the 11-track album was met with mixed or average reviews, but was able to debut atop U.S. Top Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts as well U.S. Billboard 200 chart.
Kanye had originally planned to release a new solo album and his tenth studio album, “Donda”, in June of this year, but as of now it hasn’t materialized. He, however, treated fans to a few one-off singles, including “Wash Us in the Blood” featuring Travis Scott (II), “DONDA” and “Nah Nah”.
Kanye had been focusing on his presidental campaign in the weeks leading to this year’s election, which was full of drama with his Twitter rants. Despite not making the deadline to have his name included in the ballot in several states, he reportedly won more than 57,000 votes in the November 3 election.
He later hinted at his plan to run for the president again in 2024, tweeting back in November, “WELP KANYE 2024.”

Kanye West's Alleged HIV+ Transgender Ghostwriter Threatens to Expose Him

    WENN/Avalon

Mykki Blanco, who claims to have written Yeezy’s part in Teyana Taylor’s song ‘Hurry’, is dropping an ultimatum to the ‘Follow God’ rapper after he reportedly skipped out on his payment.

    Nov 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – One of Kanye West’s ghostwriters is allegedly ready to go for a public war with the rapper. Mykki Blanco, an HIV positive transgender, is threatening to expose the GOOD Music founder after an alleged financial dispute.
While the Atlanta-born star has admitted to using ghostwriters in the past, a ghostwriter should remain a secret, hence the term “ghostwriter.” However, according to MTO News, Mykki has launched an ultimatum that he’s going to come forward and tell the world that she’s been writing Kanye’s music because he skipped out on one of his payments.

Back in July, Mykki made a claim that she wrote Ye’s rap part in Teyana Taylor’s song “Hurry”. The songwriter, who is also a rapper, performance artist, poet and activist for HIV and LGBT issues, tweeted at the time, “I wrote on and co-produced this track as well as writing the verse that Kanye literally raps on ‘Hurry’.”

“Is that a big accomplishment to write for other artists no,” she added, expressing her displease. Noting that she meant no disrespect to Teyana, the ghostwriter claimed, “The reason I have gone public with this is not to bad mouth @teyanataylor.”
Kanye’s past ghostwriters included some hip-hop stars who have placed their own names in the music industry, including Drake, Travis Scott (II), Lupe Fiasco and Jay-Z.
Should the ghostwriter’s allegation be true, it’s another problem that Kanye will be dealing with after he’s sued by workers at his live opera show who allege he didn’t pay their wages. The 43-year-old rapper is accused of owing staff “unpaid wages” and of “failing to pay minimum wage and overtime,” with a lawsuit demanding $1 million in compensation.
The suit states that the “Gold Digger” hitmaker “failed to properly compensate” dozens of employees, including a number of performers from his show. “Defendants oversaw, controlled and ran the production, and the aggrieved employees worked many hours on the production and were not timely paid for their work, or paid at all,” the documents read.

Kanye West Unveils 'Nah Nah Nah' Remix Ft. DaBaby and 2 Chainz

    WENN/Instagram/WENN/Instar

The remix, which was first teased by the ‘Follow God’ rapper last week, marks Ye’s first collaboration with the ‘Rockstar’ hitmaker who has announced that he’s voting for West in the presidential election.

    Oct 30, 2020
AceShowbiz – DaBaby has sealed his endorsement of Kanye West with an appearance on the latter’s song “Nah Nah Nah”. The original song was released on October 16 as part of his planned album “Donda: With Child”, and he announced two days later that DaBaby did a remix version of it.
“DABABY TURNED THIS VERSE AROUND SO QUICK ITS INSPIRATIONAL TO SEE HOW FAST WE CAN MOVE AS A PEOPLE,” Ye gushed on Twitter about his collaborator last week. He included a 16-second snippet of DaBaby’s verse in the post, writing, “I HAD TO GIVE YALL AT LEAST A SNIPPET.”
In the original song, Kanye raps about his presidential run, his contract dispute with Universal Music Group, and his appearance on Nick Cannon’s podcast. Meanwhile, in the remix which also features 2 Chainz, DaBaby expresses his hope to make it big like the Yeezy designer as spitting, “Tryna make some shoes with Yeezy and Billion Dollar Baby clothing.”
DaBaby isn’t only keen on working with Kanye musically, but he has also shown his support for the “Gold Digger” rapper’s political ambition. Back in August, the “Rockstar” hitmaker announced that he’s voting for Ye in the upcoming presidential election. “Ima let y’all finish…. But you got me f**ked up you think I ain’t voting for Ye,” he tweeted while paying homage to Kanye’s infamous 2009 VMAs moment.

Kanye was recently reported to have spent $3 million on his presidential run. Reports stated earlier this month that he’s polling at 2 percent nationally, as he was deemed ineligible to get his name in the ballots in a number of states.
His White House run aside, Kanye recently hinted at the launch of his own Yeezy Christian Academy. The 43-year-old star tweeted on Wednesday, October 28 a video appearing to promote the institution.
It featured his daughter North and son Saint, his two elder children with wife Kim Kardashian, as well as their cousins, Kourtney Kardashian’s kids Mason and Penelope Disick, wearing blue T-shirts and pants, with the school’s initials, “YCA,” branded across the chest, as they gathered in a classroom, and run around outdoors.
“Dear Future, I still believe in you. We still believe in you. We believe in our families,” they chanted in the clip. “In our future, we will heal. Our future has homes for everyone. Our future has food for everyone. Our future has love. Jesus loves everyone. Let’s lead with love! Our future is waiting on us!”

    WENN/Instagram/Ivan Nikolov

Ty Dolla $ign, who is also involved in the joint project, makes the revelation in his new song ‘Status’ that finds him rapping, ‘He said, ‘Dolla, you too good to put your voice on that generic s**t.’ ‘

    Oct 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Sorry, Nicki Minaj fans! It looks like her collaboration with Kanye West, “New Body”, will never see the lights of the day. Ty Dolla $ign, who was also involved in the project, claimed in his new song “Status” that the rapper and fashion mogul refused to release the collaborative song since he was not satisfied with the final product.
Released on Friday, October 23, the song found Ty rapping, “I told Ye to drop the OG ‘New Body’ (Body)/ I told Ye to run for president (President)/ He said, ‘Dolla, you too good to put your voice on that generic s**t.’ ”

Nicki fans are understandably disappointed by this, considering that the song is something that they have been expecting for so long. Some even decided to attack Kanye, with one saying, “kanye calling ‘new body’ trash when he hasn’t put out a good song since like 2016 is so funny to me.” Meanwhile, another wrote, “So he wasted Nicki’s time even writing the damn verse just for him to now say it’s ‘generic’ ????? She doesn’t needs to collab with ever again.”
“New Body” was first announced in October 2018, when Kanye revealed in an interview that he had a song about body shaming with Nicki and Ty. The recording of Nicki’s verse was previewed in an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” before the full version leaked online in July 2019. Kanye additionally previewed the song at multiple listening parties for his album “Jesus Is King”, but the song was eventually scrapped from the effort due to Kanye and Nicki’s creative differences.
Earlier this year, Kanye included “New Body” in his upcoming tenth album “Donda: With Child” though it’s unknown when the “Famous” rapper will unveil the project. Additionally, he appears to have removed Nicki’s verse from the new version.

In the snippet, DaBaby could be heard rapping over trap beats and trilling flutes, “Let me get ’em Ye/ They gonna hate on me [unintelligible] anyway/ They only call me when they have a bill to pay/ Ain’t nobody ask me how I feel today.” Kanye wrote in the caption, “DABABY TURNED THIS VERSE AROUND SO QUICK ITS INSPIRATIONAL TO SEE HOW FAST WE CAN MOVE AS A PEOPLE. Kanye first teased a collaboration with DaBaby over the weekend, sharing a screenshot of the text message he had with the “Suge” rapper. “Thank you for everything bro,” Kanye told his fellow rapper, who responded, “Nah Thank you! Been inspired. Still inspired! Since graduation,” a nod to Kanye’s 2007 album.
Kanye originally shared “Nah Nah Nah” as a “theme song” for a viral clip, before making the full version of the song available on all streaming platforms last week. Produced by himself and Dem Jointz, the song finds Kanye touching on a number of subjects, including his presidential run and his complaints about the news media. He also raps about his recent issues with how his record label has been handling his masters.
