Dog The Bounty Hunter 'relieved' to move 'fiancée's' clothes into late wife's closet

Duane ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ Chapman has said he felt “relieved” moving his late wife Beth’s clothes out of their closet and replacing them with his rumoured new fiancée’s wardrobe.

In a clip for Monday’s episode of US programme The Dr. Oz Show, Dog, 66, said he couldn’t face walking by the empty closet and “ordered” Moon Angell to store some of her clothes in the wardrobe.

Moon told the host: “Here’s what happened… When I got into the house, he would walk by the closet and bawl, and walk by the closet and bawl, and shut the door and then open the door.

“Then he would go in, I think this is pretty intimate, but he would smell Beth and he would go in there and sit down and cry and cry and cry.”

Moon, who was Beth’s maid of honour during her wedding to Dog in 2006, said the bounty hunter asked her to “take Beth’s things out of the closet”.

She continued: “So it wasn’t a negative thing, it was because he just couldn’t do it anymore.”

As Moon explained the situation, Dog became overcome with emotion as he broke down in tears.

He admitted that he couldn’t bare to look at the empty space anymore months after losing Bet to her cancer battle and asked their family friend to make some changes.

He commented: “I walked by and it was empty, and I’m like, ‘Oh, God.’

“I said, ‘Moon, put some of your stuff in there.’ She said, ‘No,’ and I said, ‘Moon, it’s an order’.”

Moon, who has known the Chapman family for years and has served as an assistant.

Dog’s daughter, Lyssa Chapman, tweeted about the wardrobe situation last week.

She wrote on Twitter, before later deleting the post: “If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your step-mom died what would you do?

“If you went to your mothers closet and saw she moved all her clothes and replaced them with her own, what would you do? #ItsNotWhenOrWhyItsWho.”

The comments come as Dog sparked engagement rumours from a teaser clip for Monday’s show.

“Moon Angell, will you marry me?” he asked his reported bride-to-be.

Beth lost her battle with cancer in July. She had three children with Dog, who has a total of 12 kids between four marriages.
