Gogglebox stars Jenny and Lee almost unrecognisable in hilarious throwback snap

Gogglebox duo Jenny Newby and Lee Riley look worlds away from their appearance on the Channel 4 show in a new unearthed photo.

The hilarious pair, who have been friends for more than 21 years, have a legion of strong fans who have created an Instagram profile dedicated to them.

Earlier this week, the page shared an epic throwback snap of Jenny and Lee – and they definitely look almost unrecognisable.

The post was captioned: “How it started vs how it’s going… #Gogglebox #JennyandLee #BestFriends.”

The before image appeared to show Jenny and Lee at a wedding as Lee is wearing a suave suit with a purple tie and is sporting a glowing tan.

Meanwhile, Jenny is dressed in what appears to be a cream coloured shirt – complete a with a flower pinned on.

The former pub landlady looks particularly different as she is sporting a dark hairdo, whereas these days her hair is bleached and much lighter.

Followers of the Instagram fan account were certainly impressed, and took to the comments section.

“You both look great,” one person wrote, while another added: “You’ve both aged well.”

A third commented: “Jenny you look better and better with age x.”

Lee and Jenny first became friends 21 years ago when she was a landlady at a pub in Paull, East Yorkshire, and Lee was a regular customer.

Lee has joked in the past that he regrets going in the pub and says things could have got off to an awkward start as he hated Jenny’s hair.

“When I first met her she had a perm and I can remember thinking, ‘She needs a haircut’. We were firm friends immediately,” he said.

“I don’t think we’ve ever had an argument. We’re too placid to argue. She makes me laugh too much for me to ever fall out with her.”

Earlier this week it was reported that filming of the latest series of Gogglebox has been left in chaos due to the current lockdown rules in England.

Gogglebox’s 16th season is due to air until December, but the national lockdown could mean certain beloved families on the show are forced to film apart.
