Heavy D 'found dead on kitchen floor by brothers after suspected heart attack'

Heavy D, whose real name was Colin Newell, was found dead on his kitchen floor after going missing for two weeks – new reports have claimed.

According to Mail Online, Heavy D visited costume designer pal Lorna Onabanjo on November 14 at her home in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

She had told the publication she was the “the last to see him alive”.

Heavy D’s brother posted on social media the star had gone missing on the same day – adding he didn’t have an address for him.

Ms Onabanjo said: “We spent the night playing Monopoly and singing Karaoke and having a few drinks.

“He was feeling a bit down because suddenly a lot of people who hadn’t spoken to him in years were coming out of the woodwork trying to be his friend again after learning he was going to be in a movie with Vinnie Jones.

“He also didn’t know what his next project was going to be so it was a come down after all the hype and excitement.”

She added she tried to raise his spirits before he went home and “no one ever heard of him again”.

Explaining how Heavy D had been found dead, she went on to say his family contacted her on Wednesday morning before going to his North London home and seeing his “body through a window on the kitchen floor”.

While a post mortem is yet to be carried out, Heavy D is currently thought to have died from a heart attack.

“He usually saturates social media but there had been nothing for days,” she said.

Heavy D’s death was confirmed on Twitter on Wednesday morning by his friend, actor Nick Never.

Never tweeted: “I’m very shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my friend Heavy D.

“You lived your life the way you wanted to and f*** anyone who didn’t like it.”

Heavy D’s ex-fiancé Anne Harris took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to express her sadness at the death of the 47-year-old.

Alongside a cute snap of herself, their daughter and Heavy D, Bryony wrote: “I loved this man, we argued, we hated each other, but we had love at one point and a beautiful daughter, rest in peace you silly thing!

“Now time to myself please guys no messages.”
