Holly Willoughby heartbreak as she's forced to spend Christmas apart from sister

Holly Willoughby will be forced to spend this Christmas apart from her beloved sister Kelly this year, as Tier 4 restrictions come into place.

The This Morning presenter, 39, lives in South West London with her husband Dan Baldwin, and their three young children, Belle, Harry and Chester.

Holly usually spends the festive season with Kelly, but after the restrictions came into place, the sisters aren’t permitted to travel to visit one another.

While Holly has yet to speak out on the Willoughby Christmas plans, Kelly took to social media to express her disappointment over the news.

Sharing a throwback photo with her beloved sis, Kelly wrote: “So sad I can’t be with my @hollywilloughby for the first time in 40 years.

“Thinking of everyone who can’t be with their favourite people this Christmas. It’s beyond heartbreaking. Do something now to try and keep your head straight. I can’t knit for toffee but giving it a bloody go.”

She finished: “Oh and have cracked open the Christmas booze…and on second tub of choc.”

This isn’t the first time the sisters have been forced apart this year – during the first lockdown, they went weeks without visiting each other.

Upset over the distance, Kelly wrote a poem titled Easter Lament, which Holly shared to her personal Instagram account.

Looking forward to their overdue family reunion, Holly said: “Awww Kelly… so beautiful… misss you all so so much.”

Kelly works as a children’s writer, and Holly has insisted they are “more like friends than sisters” in the past.

Bringing their talents together, Kelly and Holly have even teamed up to write a collection of children’s books titled School for Stars.

Her older sis often joins the ITV star on the red carpet at star-studded events, even witnessing Holly win a BAFTA last year.

Sharing a photo with the trophy in her arms, Holly exclaimed: “Just dreamy sharing tonight’s @bafta with my sister @ladywilloughby and also being reunited with Medic Bob! … miss that dude!”
