Jeremih released from hospital after medics 'saved his life' in Covid battle

Jeremih has been released from hospital, having successfully overcome his Covid-19 health battle.

There were fears for the 33-year-old musician’s health after he was first admitted to hospital with the deadly virus back in mid-November.

He was later admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital, and was placed on a ventilator to aid his breathing.

Thankfully, Jeremih, whose real name is Jeremy Felton, has successfully recovered, with staff at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago nursing him back to health.

He told TMZ: “First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life. I will be forever grateful.

“I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. A special thanks to Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for their love and support.”

He added: “I would like to thank all my fans and people around the world who prayed for me. I’m getting stronger everyday, and look forward to spending time with my sons.”

Signed to Def Jam Recordings in 2009, Jeremih became an overnight sensation with the release of his Birthday Sex debut single.

He also enjoyed top ten hits with his tracks Down on Me and Don’t Tell ‘Em, with his self-titled album rising to number five on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Last month, when Jeremih was placed on a ventilator, a representative for the rapper confirmed he was suffering from a “severe” case of coronavirus.

In a statement shared with Deadline, the rep said: “The COVID-19 condition he’s experiencing is rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions.

“There’s no shame in contracting COVID-19, and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others Everyone diagnosed with COVID-19 is affected differently. Unfortunately for Jeremih, COVID-19 viciously attacked his body.”

Just last week, rapper 50 Cent expressed his concerns for Jeremih’s health, asking his fans to “pray” for his recovery.

He said: “Pray for my boy Jeremih. He’s not doing good. This COVID s*** is real.”
