Jessie J hospitalised after going 'completely deaf in one ear' on Christmas Eve

Pop star Jessie J has revealed that she spent Christmas Eve in hospital after struggling to walk and going “completely deaf” in one ear.

The 32-year-old singer, who is currently living in California, took to her Instagram page over the weekend to open up about her health scare.

In her candid social media post, Jessie told fans that she fell ill and was rushed to hospital where she was diagnosed with Meniere’s syndrome.

Meniere’s is an ear condition that can cause vertigo and the sensation that everything around you is spinning, meaning it is difficult to stand or walk straight.

Symptoms also include nausea, dizziness, and loss of balance.

Channing Tatum’s ex penned: “I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn’t walk in a straight line.

“Basically I got told I had Meniere’s syndrome. I know that a lot of people suffer from it and I’ve actually had a lot of people reach out to me and give me great advice, so I’ve just been laying low in silence.

“Now’s the first time I’ve been able to sing and bear it.”

She added: “I am now watching Queen’s Gambit with my finger in my ear.

“I’ve done the first episode 4 times because I [have] zero focus and my ear sounds like someone crawled in and turned a hair dryer on.

“It could be way worse, it is what it is. I’m super-grateful for my health.

“It just threw me off. But I’m glad I went early and they worked out what it was real quick and I got put on the right medicine so I feel a lot better today.”

Jessie continued: “Sending LOVE to everyone who needs it, is or isn’t alone. We all need some extra love. This Christmas might be a little off.”

She ended the uplifting message to her supporters: “BUT one in a lifetime isn’t bad when some people haven’t had one good one in their lifetime.

“Think about what you do have this week, not what you don’t.”

Fans rushed to leave a supportive message for the star in the comment section underneath the Instagram grid post.

One person gushed: “Big love to you.”

Another added: “Sending you so much love.”

While a third posted: “Jessie, you are the best.”
