Joe Swash says Stacey Solomon was 'sad' when her kids returned to school

Dancing On Ice champion Joe Swash has revealed that girlfriend Stacey Solomon was affected when her children had to return to school following the first coronavirus lockdown.

The 38-year-old television personality has admitted that the house he shares wth the Loose Women panelist felt “weird” after her sons from a previous relationship Zachary, 12, and eight-year-old Leighton went back to the classroom after weeks of homeschooling during the global pandemic.

Schools reopened as restrictions eased but the change in their family life impacted Stacey, 31, emotionally as she got used to having her sons around her.

Speaking to express.co.uk, Joe explained: “It definitely was [weird]. We got used to our little life together and then it changed again.

“I think we have to get used to things changing all the time, but it was sad for Stace.

“I think the kids needed it as well. They needed to be around kids their own age.”

Stacey is also the mother of Rex, one, who she shares with Joe.

Former EastEnders actor Joe went on to admit that homeschooling was a “nightmare” during lockdown.

It comes after the couple had a row over a huge Christmas sleigh while they put up their decorations recently.

Stacey and Joe had a lovers tiff as on “Sleigh Day” while her beau was busy in the bath.

Recording a video for her Instagram page, Stacey said: “Just sat in the bathroom trying to hurry up Joe.”

Joe responded: “Listen, don’t try and hurry me up. Every time you have a bath you put the flowers out, candles out, you’re in here for about three hours…”

“I don’t have a bath on Sleigh Day, do I? she argued.

Her partner barked back: “It’s not a real day!”

To which the mum responded laughing: “It is a real day!”

Keeping fans up to date on “Sleigh Day”, Stacey posted a picture on the way to pick up the goods.

She wrote: “Finally out and on our way to pick up a sleigh. Happy Sleigh Day!”

Stacey later told her 3.9 million followers: “Current situation. We’re back and straight out into the garden.

“They’re so excited my heart is physically hurting!

She continued: “The best Saturday afternoons are spent with them.

“Love you boys. They were so happy when they finished all the reindeer bits.”
