Kim Kardashian gives money to her fans for Christmas after 'hard 2020'

Kim Kardashian West may be known for her grand gestures but her latest move has seen her boost the mood for her millions of followers.

The superstar, who was recently declared a billionaire, announced that she would be sending a sum of $500 (£370) to her fans after the world was forced to endure a “hard year”.

Kim, 40, took to her social media pages to spread the delightful news as the world gears up to celebrate the Christmas period, while many may be worried about their financial situation.

Throughout 2020, thousands were left unemployed due to the global coronavirus pandemic and Kim has continually supported efforts to help those in need.

Addressing her 68.1 million Twitter followers, the trainee-lawyer shared a picture which read: “Hey guys! It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

“I know 2020 has been really hard and people are struggling, worried about how they’re going to pay rent, put food on the table, or a gift under the tree for their kids.

“I want to spread the love by sending $500 to 1000 people.”

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star offered to send her own money to fans via the Cash App.

Kim’s comment section was instantly inundated with more than 142,000 fans sending in their Cash App ID’s in the hopes of receiving money from the businesswoman.

Earlier this year, Kim’s shapewear brand SKIMS donated $1million (£743,160) to the coronavirus relief fund.

She had also donated 20 percent of profits from her SKIMS collection to the Baby 2 Baby relief fund to assist children and families who required basic essentials during the height of the pandemic.

Kim’s husband, rapper Kanye West, had also fallen victim to the killer virus – with the Yeezus rapper being left bed-bound in March.

Kanye, 43, has previously spoken about his encounter with the virus, telling Forbes: “[I had] chills, shaking in the bed, taking hot showers, looking at videos telling me what I’m supposed to do to get over it.”
