Nicola Adams and girlfriend escape Tier 4 London for 'work trip' to the Maldives

Strictly Come Dancing star Nicola Adams and girlfriend Ella Baig were seen fleeing the locked-down United Kingdom on Wednesday as they prepared for a work trip to the Maldives.

The Olympic boxer and her lover jetted out of blighty days after London and the surrounding areas plummeted to Tier 4 lockdown measures in a bid to contain the mutant strain of coronavirus.

Nicola, 38, and Ella, 22, looked in awe of one another as they were seen arriving at the international hub sporting luxury personalised suitcases ahead of their trip.

The Leeds-born sports star documented her day with her 185,000 Instagram followers as she made her way to the airport.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Nicola shared a video of her and Ella in the back of a chauffeur-driven vehicle as she said: “We out, strictly business. Ain’t that right, Ella?”

After making their way through Heathrow, Nicola commented on how “dead” it was before they spent time relaxing in the swanky departure lounges sipping on drinks.

While sat in her business class cabin, Nicola filmed herself sat alongside Ella as the First Officer and Captain greeted passengers onto the British Airways service to The Maldives.

Nicola opted to keep her attire casual, rocking a black leather-look jacket with a beige hoodie, black tracksuit pants and a face covering.

Her model girlfriend, Ella, decided to wear a similar wardrobe to her girlfriend, switching the hoodie for a beige rollneck sweater.

It was announced on December 20 that those from Tier 4 areas were not permitted to travel abroad for leisurely reasons, exceptions are made for education, work and childcare purposes.

Guidelines set out by Boris Johnson and the government says that international travel “may be increasingly restricted because of domestic regulations.”

Daily Star has approached a spokesperson for Nicola Adams and Ella Baig for comment.
