Piers Morgan 'relieved' Kim Kardashian won't become First Lady as Kanye concedes

Speaking on Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan reacted to news that Kanye West has admitted defeat in the US election.

However, it was his wife Kim Kardashian who fell in the firing line, as Piers, 55, insisted he was relieved she wouldn’t become the first lady.

The rapper, 43, was in the running for President with an official candidacy in 12 states, including Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Oklahoma.

However, in the early hours of the morning, Kanye decided to step down, as Joe Biden and Donald Trump took the lead in the election.

Breaking the news over Twitter, he hinted he would run for the next election, writing: “WELP KANYE 2024.”

When the story broke, Piers announced: “Kanye West has conceded.”

The GMB star then took a swipe at Kanye’s wife Kim, saying: “We won’t have first lady Kim Kardashian West, which is probably an enormous relief for all of us.”

While Kim confirmed she had voted in the election, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star did not reveal who she had decided to support.

Sharing an election selfie, she said: “I VOTED!!!! Did you?!?!

“If you are in line when the hours of operation close at the polls, they are required to stay open and allow you to vote, so do not get out of line!”

Though Kim has kept her political views to herself, the mum-of-four did like a tweet from the rapper Kid Cudi, which showed his support for candidate Joe Biden.

Four years ago, Kim was vocal in her support for Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton, who lost out to Trump.

On Tuesday, Kanye confirmed he had voted for the first time in a Presidential election, announcing he had given himself his vote.

He tweeted: “God is so good.

“Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust…me.”

On election night, the award-winning musician could be seen sitting alone at a table, watching the results roll in.

He later conceded over social media, as fans rushed to show support for his potential 2024 election bid.
