Sacha Baron Cohen hits out at 'tragic' Donald Trump as he loses US election

Sacha Baron Cohen has hit out at Donald Trump on Twitter after it was announced he had lost the US election to rival Joe Biden.

The actor and comedian called Trump “tragic” and “sad” as he mocked him for being out of work.

Witnessed by his 644,000 followers, the Borat 2 star wrote: “Donald—you’re out of work and I know I offered you a job.

“But your performance this past week was tragic and sad. Offer rescinded.”

The tweet came after he also tweeted a post which read: “The candidates campaigned. The people spoke. The vote is clear.

“President Biden will be sworn in on January 20. Democracy won.”

Sacha Baron Cohen offered Trump a role in his new film last month as he warned him he’d be ‘needing a job’.

It came after Trump branded the star a “creep” after Borat 2 was released.

Trump lashed out at Baron Cohen in response to his lawyer Rudy Giuliani appearing in his new film.

The move saw Giuliani tucking his shirt in while in a hotel with a young woman acting as a journalist.

When asked about the incident in the mockumentary, Trump said he had no idea what had happened.

But he didn’t bite his tongue on what he had to say about Baron Cohen.

He told US reporters: “You know, years ago, he tried to scam me and I was the only one that said: ‘No way. This guy is a phoney guy.’ I don’t find him funny. To me, he’s a creep.”

Trump was referring to an incident which happened in 2003 when he was being interviewed on Da Ali G Show. After just a couple of minutes he walked away.

In response to being called a ‘creep’ by Trump, Baron Cohen wrote on Twitter: “Donald—I appreciate the free publicity for Borat!

“I admit, I don’t find you funny either. But yet the whole world laughs at you. I’m always looking for people to play racist buffoons, and you’ll need a job after [Inauguration Day on] Jan. 20. Let’s talk!”

Joe Biden was announced as the 46th President of the United States of America on Saturday (November 7) after taking the swing state of Pennsylvania.
