This Morning fans 'turn off' show over 'terrifying' Josie Gibson clown segment

This Morning’s Josie Gibson was dressed up as a clown during Friday’s episode, but her circus-themed outfit left some viewers ‘terrified’.

The 35-year-old television presenter is no stranger to clowning about on the popular programme, as she’s known for taking part in an array of silly challenges set by ITV bosses.

However, some viewers didn’t find her clown outfit funny as they were “scared” of her over-the-top costume, makeup and wig.

One This Morning viewer tweeted: “OMG. Like wtf.”

While another wrote: “And now I can understand why people are s***-scared of clowns”.

A third added: “I’m off to #jeremyvine for 15 minutes.”

“Aye right Josie. Straight outta AHS: freak show”, said another, referencing the horror-themed programme American Horror Story in their tweet.

A firth viewer warned: “If anyone has a fear of clowns, I suggest switching to another channel for the next 10-15 minutes #ThisMorning”.

Josie’s eye-catching costume was unnecessary however as when she took part in the “clownotherapy”, the expert told her she’d got the wrong idea about the session.

Holly, who led the clown-themed therapy session, told Josie: “It’s not really what I do.

“It’s all about bring out the inner-idiot.”

She added to Josie: “Can I just ask you to take all of that off?”

After Big Brother star Josie had removed her circus outfit, she was taught how to find her inner-clown with an array of exercises.

However, viewers were still scared after seeing the terrifying oufit.

Another wrote: “Clowns are creepy #ThisMorning”.

“Josie dressed as a clown. Now that is scary”, remarked someone else.

A viewer suggested those with a phobia of clowns would need therapy from ITV’s resident life-coaches Nik and Eva Speakman after the segment.

They said: “What’s the odds on the Speakmans curing someone with a fear of clowns later?”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
