This Morning's Holly Willoughby jokes she'd be unemployed without blonde hair

This Morning babe Holly Willoughby has joked she would be out of a job if she decided to ditch her blonde locks.

The TV regular, who co-hosts the hit ITV daytime show alongside Phillip Schofield, admitted she thinks her pin-up looks are partly to credit for her career success.

Logging into Instagram live on Tuesday evening, Holly, 39, joined Big Brother legend Davina McCall for a live hair dying session – they are the faces of Garnier, after all.

Streaming to more than 10,000 followers live from their bathrooms, the TV girls showed supporters how they have been fixing their roots in lockdown.

Holly said: “I’m not an expert but you don’t have to be.

“That’s the point of home colouring.

“Had it not been for lockdown I’m not sure we would have done this on camera.

“But now people know that we do actually do it at home.”

Davina added: “When I went from blonde to brunette I felt a bit invisible but now I wouldn’t go back.”

Laughing, Holly continued: “Good job you’re brunette and I am then blonde then.

“I would be out of a job if I wasn’t blonde.”

Admitting she’s debating revamping her look for the new year, the yummy-mummy continued: “I’ve gone a bit longer during lockdown and I am debating if I should chop-chop again.”

Holly recently sparked concern after missing two days of This Morning.

At the time the presenter kept quiet about her absence with ITV simply saying she was talking a well earned rest.

However, in reality, her children had had a Covid scare meaning she took time off to make sure they were ok.

Posting to social media, Holly said: “Just wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages…

“Over the last few days two of our children were unwell and had symptoms of Covid. In line with government guidelines we were waiting for results of the tests before I could return to work.

“Couple that with just wanting to look after two poorly children, it meant having two days away from This Morning.

“I chose not to alert everyone to this because my focus was on looking after them… Thankfully all tests came back negative and everybody’s feeling much better. See you Monday.”
