Tipping Point fans raging as Ben Shephard unveils 'useless' mystery prize

Tipping Point fans were up in arms during Friday’s episode after television presenter Ben Shephard unveiled the show’s mystery prize.

Rob, who was lucky enough to tip the question-mark token over the edge, was eager to find out what prize he’d bagged himself during the latest edition of the ITV game show.

Host Ben unmasked the item as a “luxury hanging chair” which included a leather seat, encompassed by a rattan style egg shape.

Fans of the show fumed that the giveaway was “rubbish” and raced to their Twitter accounts to showcase their dismay.

Tipping Point contestant Rob was lucky enough to tip the question mark token over the edge but fans were not impressed with his prize

One wrote: “What the f*** is a ‘luxury’ hanging garden chair?…..as opposed to a ‘manky’ f***ing garden chair what we all have in the shed, that we don’t own?!”

Another added: “What use is a hanging garden chair? I don’t have a hanging garden.”

A third tweet read: “A f***ing garden chair? Seriously?”

While a fourth fan pointed out” “A hanging garden chair. What if he lives in a high rise flat?”

Viewers were underwhelmed as Ben unveiled the “mystery prize” was a “luxury hanging chair”

Rob did eventually go on to make the final round after he was passed in a considerably close round against opponent Beth.

TV presenter Ben asked Beth: “The Johan Cruijff ArenA is home to which Dutch football club?”

After stewing over whether to answer or not, Beth decided to pass the question over to Rob.

Rob took home £10,000 along with the ‘rubbish’ mystery prize

Only knowing one team, Rob managed to answer correctly with AFC “Ajax” and secured his place in the final round.

Getting off to a flying start, the Jackpot Counter was played and banked him an extra £250.

But it all started to go downhill from there, after he failed to correctly name Kim Kardashian’s new vocation and didn’t know the name of the Japanese food bun.

The game turned incredibly tense with the £10,000 prize looking unlikely but Rob kept his cool and managed to tip the mighty Jackpot Counter into the winner’s section.

He took home the ultimate cash prize, along with his luxurious hanging chair.

Tipping Point airs on weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
