US actor Bert Belasco dies aged 38 after 'body was discovered in hotel room'

Let’s Stay Together star Bert Belasco has died at the age of 38, according to reports.

The actor’s body was discovered in a Virginia hotel room, TMZ reported.

According to his dad Bert Sr, his body was discovered on Sunday after his girlfriend was unable to contact him.

It is claimed she asked hotel staff to check on Bert who plays contractor Charles Whitmore in Let’s Stay Together.

Bert was staying at at the hotel ahead of the start of filming a new movie project.

It is claimed he was found by staff and there was blood on the bedsheets.

An autopsy is being held to determine the cause of  his death.

His dad reckons his son suffered a fatal aneurysm.

Bert also starred on several episodes of Pitch,I’m Dying Up Here and American Princess, Superstore.

He also racked up appearances on The Mick, The Soul Man, No Names, The Big Show

and Justified.

In one of his most prominent roles he played Charles Whitmore on ‘LST’ for 52 episodes between 2011 and 2014.

Friends of the star and his fans have made heartfelt tributes to the star on Twitter.

US actress Yvette Nicole Brown said: “I am gutted by this news.”

“Bert was my friend! We had JUST talked last week. He was happy and excited about his new project and all the good that was to come. No day is promised. NO DAY.”

Another person said: “Damn I loved watching Let’s stay together Rip Bert Belasco.”

In September 2014 Let’s Stay Together was cancelled by Black Entertainment TV after three series.
